The College places sovereign, governing responsibility in a self-perpetuating Board of Trustees. The Trustees of the College have final governing and fiduciary responsibility. Inasmuch as the College is affiliated both by desire and history with the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America, a majority of the Trustees are members of ELCA congregations.
The Board meets in full session three times per year -- at Homecoming in the Autumn, in early February, and at Commencement in May. Board Officers are elected at the Annual Meeting in May, and serve one year in that capacity. Officers may be re-elected indefinitely. Trustees serve four-year terms, and also may be re-elected indefinitely.
After long and meritorious service, a member of the Board may be elected a Trustee Emeritus by the Board. Trustees Emeriti are seated at Board meetings with voice only.
The Board is limited to thirty-three members. They are listed below in alphabetical order, with Officers first.
