MICROBIOLOGIST
The Biology Department of Carthage College invites applications for a tenure-track position in biology to teach introductory biology, microbiology and courses in the candidate's area of interest. Candidates must hold the Ph.D. degree in biology or a related field at time of appointment. We are seeking an individual with a strong commitment to teaching and involving undergraduates in research. In addition to formal scholarly credentials, candidates must have enthusiasm for teaching and undergraduate research in a small college atmosphere. Carthage faculty members are also expected to teach general education courses regularly, including Heritage seminars, the College's core curriculum.
Salary and benefits are fully competitive. Rank of appointment is dependent on qualifications.

MATHEMATICS FACULTY
Carthage invites applications for a new tenure-track position in Mathematics. Candidates must hold the Ph.D. degree in mathematics or a related field at time of appointment. Applicants from all fields of mathematics will be considered. Applicants with an interest in teaching abstract algebra, applied mathematics, or financial mathematics are preferred. In addition to formal scholarly credentials, candidates must have enthusiasm for teaching and undergraduate research in a small college atmosphere. The Mathematics Department at Carthage is dedicated to providing an outstanding educational program through classroom instruction incorporating innovative pedagogical techniques and meaningful undergraduate research experiences. Carthage faculty members are also expected to teach general education courses regularly, including mathematics courses for non-majors and Heritage seminars, the College’s core curriculum.
Salary and benefits are fully competitive. Dependent upon qualifications and experience, the appointment will be at the rank of Associate or Assistant Professor.

Part-time Chemistry Instructors: The Department of Chemistry at Carthage College invites applications for part-time teaching positions for the fall term (August-December 2006). Successful candidates will teach either General or Organic Chemistry laboratory courses. Applicants should have a keen interest in undergraduate education and either a Ph.D. or an M.S. in Chemistry or related field with significant teaching or work experience. Carthage College is a selective liberal arts college on Lake Michigan between Milwaukee and Chicago.
