ESNS 643-T-1 Starting Your Own Business in the Health and Fitness Industry, 4 credits (Doug Arion, Mary Secor)

Through course lectures, discussions, readings, guest lecturers, and class projects, the student will develop an understanding of the issues, concerns and challenges of starting their own business in the health and fitness industry. The student will examine and explore topics associated with the initiation and operation of health related businesses. Class topics include incorporation, finance, staff planning and management, cost tracking and taxes, as well as developing appropriate programs, services and products to be offered by their model facility.
