Application Checklist

Applying as a freshman

  1. Have your high school forward an official transcript to the Office of Admissions. The following information must be included:
    • grades for all courses completed for each year in secondary school.
    • a listing for all senior courses and most recent available grades.
    • an explanation of the secondary school grading scale
    • class rank and corresponding grade point average
    • high school CEEB/ACT code
  2. Have your scores from either the scholastic aptitude test (SAT 1) or the American College Testing Program (ACT) sent to Carthage. Carthage will accept these scores from your official high school transcript. Our ACT code is 4571 and our SAT code is 1103.
  3. A non-refundable fee of $25 (check or money order; credit card accepted when applying online) must accompany your application. This fee covers the cost of processing your application. (Please note that the $25 application fee is waived for children and grandchildren of Carthage alumni.)

Applying as a transfer student

  1. Have an official college transcript mailed to the Office of Admissions. If you attended more than one college, an official transcript from each college is required.
  2. An official high school transcript must also be mailed to the Office of Amissions if you have completed fewer than 12 college credits.
  3. A non-refundable fee of $25 (check or money order; credit card accepted when applying online) must accompany your application. This fee covers the cost of processing your application. (Please note that the $25 application fee is waived for children and grandchildren of Carthage alumni.)
  4. Please include a personal statement addressing why you are considering transferring to Carthage.

Applying as an international student

  1. Have your secondary school forward an official transcript to the Office of Admissions. The following imformation must be included:
    • grades for all courses completed for each year in secondary school.
    • a lisitng for all current courses and most recent grades.
    • an explanation of the secondary school grading scale
    • class rank and corresponding grade point average
    • an English translation, if not in English
  2. If you have attended college, request that an official college transcript be mailed directly to the Office of Admissions at Carthage.
  3. Request that an official copy of your TOEFL test results be sent directly to Carthage. Our code is 1103
  4. Since Carthage does not provide need-based financial assistance to international students, you must submit documentation showing how your education will be financed before an I-20 can be issued. The document must be authorized by a bank official.
  5. A non-refundable fee of $30 (U.S.) must accompany your application. This fee covers the cost of processing your application. Please do not send cash.
