No-Need Awards and Scholarships

Academic scholarships ranging from $4,000 to $9,000 per year are awarded to qualified incoming transfer students at the time of admission. These awards are based on the student's cumulative transfer GPA and are renewable.

The following scholarships are competitive and require a special application and student participation. All are renewable for four consecutive years, unless otherwise noted, as long as the recipient is a full-time undergraduate student.

To be considered for these scholarships, you must also apply for admission to Carthage.

Phi Theta Kappa Scholarship

These scholarships are awarded to community college transfer students with current Phi Theta Kappa membership. This $2,000 scholarship is in addition to most other merit awards. Proof of Phi Theta Kappa membership may be requested, though there is no separate application for this scholarship.

Spring Scholarship Competition

One full tuition scholarship and one $20,000 scholarship, renewable for up to three years, are awarded to incoming students who show determination, intelligence and motivation. Sign up now to receive more information about the 2011 Spring Scholarships.

Fall Transfer Scholarship Competition

A three-year, full tuition scholarship and a scholarship for up to $20,000 per year are awarded to incoming transfer students.

Need-Based Awards

Need-based aid at Carthage requires one application: the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA code: 003839). The result of this analysis determines your family's financial eligibility for aid, based on demonstrated financial need. Carthage participates in a range of federal and state financial aid programs. You may qualify for additional Carthage grants and/or loans.
