LocationCarthage's 85-acre campus is situated on the Lake Michigan shore in the northeast corner of Kenosha, Wisconsin, a safe, suburban community midway between Milwaukee and Chicago. Once a city park, the campus retains its natural beauty, adorned by stately oaks and sandy beaches. An extensive path system connected to the campus allows you to tour the surrounding area on foot, bicycle or inline skates. Milwaukee's General Mitchell International Airport is within 40 minutes by car. Chicago's O'Hare International Airport is within an hour. You can catch a Metra train or a Greyhound bus to Chicago, 15 minutes from campus. An Amtrak station is 20 minutes away. There are two municipal bus stops on campus. Summer, January term or semester internships and postgraduate employment opportunities abound, with such companies as Abbott Laboratories, Accenture Consulting, Jockey International, SC Johnson, Kraft Foods, McDonald's Corporation, and Snap-on Incorporated. Local school systems favor Carthage education majors when filling student and permanent teaching positions. |
