Returning to college is challenging, but the rewards are immense. Here's how to get started the easy way.

1. Explore this website. We've gathered information that is particularly useful to adult learners.

2. You probably will have questions. It's easy to get helpful answers. Call us at (800) 551-5343, or send us an e-mail. We'll get back to you right away.

3. If you like to learn by listening to the questions of others, join us for an information session. Members of the adult education staff will talk about becoming a student at Carthage, financial aid, various majors, schedules, and special programs and services for adult learners.

4. Apply for admission. You can apply online. Or you can visit us, enjoy a cup of coffee, and learn which of your previous college credit will transfer to Carthage. It takes only about an hour.

Undergraduate Programs

Earn a bachelor’s degree in accounting, business administration/management, marketing, criminal justice, computer science, marketing, religion, computer science, elementary education, or social work.

  • • Attend class one night a week.
  • • Classes last seven weeks.

Graduate Programs

Carthage offers graduate studies in education, business administration and social work.

  • • Master of Education
  • • Accelerated Certification for Teachers
  • • Master of Social Work

Enrichment and Continuing Education

Courses designed to meet the needs, interests and concerns of people in today's society, in such diverse fields as education, social work, criminal justice, video production, and personal development.

  • • Tuition is only $50 per Professional Development undergraduate credit, $100 per Professional Development graduate credit.
  • • Courses range from weekend workshops to classes that meet over several weeks.

Paralegal Program

This program prepares adult learners for careers as paralegals or to enhance their current career with a better understanding of legal issues and processes.

  • • Classes meet three evenings a week for 14 weeks.
