About the Adult Education Program

Carthage has been providing outstanding liberal arts education since 1847. Here, students develop career skills with analytical and communication skills. A Carthage education provides graduates with the ability to succeed today and to continually improve themselves throughout their careers. It's an education that increases in value.

When Carthage established its Kenosha campus in 1962, area employers in business, education, and the professions made it clear that adults returning to college would best be served by an evening curriculum that offered challenges rather than shortcuts, top professors rather than graduate students, and an understanding that for many adult learners, families and careers come first.

The Carthage degree earned by adult learners is recognized and respected nationwide because it identifies the holder as an individual who knows how to think, how to persuade, and how to lead. It is the same degree earned by traditional students, and gives adult learners access to the same top-notch professors, library, computing, and recreational facilities.

What will your college education be worth? It's an important question to consider, both when thinking about both your current need for a college degree, and your career options in five, 10, or 20 years. A Carthage education will serve your needs today, and help you achieve even more as your career progresses. It's the degree that opens doors and helps dreams come true.

The Carthage Advantage

Experience

Carthage boasts more than four decades of experience in preparing adult learners for professional careers. Each year, more than 1,000 busy working adults enroll in the rigorous degree and certificate programs that enhance career opportunities.

Accessible, Caring Faculty

Students are taught by first-rate professors who are also accessible outside of class. Of the full-time faculty, 90 percent hold a Ph.D. or other appropriate terminal degree in their field.

Flexibility

Carthage offers a year-round academic calendar (fall, winter, spring and summer terms). Students in the 7-Week Program can begin classes at seven different points each year. Depending on their chosen field of study, students may select the number of courses they wish to take per year, thereby progressing at their own speed.
