Accelerated Studies
The Accelerated Carthage Education program is a part-time
accelerated degree completion program which allows working adults
the opportunity to complete their bachelor's degree
within a shorter time frame. Depending on transfer credit, a
student can complete a bachelor degree in as little as two
years.
- Courses meet one night per week, from 6-9 pm, for seven weeks.
- Seven sessions are offered each year.
- You can start in any of the seven sessions.
Admissions Requirements
To apply for admission to the Carthage Adult Education program, interested students need to complete the following steps:
1. Submit an Adult Education application form accompanied by a non-refundable $10 application fee.
2. Request official transcripts from all previously attended colleges, universities and/or equivalent college programs (i.e. military service, CLEP/DANTES test results). Official transcripts should be sent directly to:

Transfer work must show a 2.50 grade point average or higher to
begin studies in the Adult Education program. If your grade point
average is lower, we recommend that you begin your Carthage
studies in the part-time semester program.

How much is tuition?
- Part-time tuition for Accelerated Carthage study is $325 per credit hour.
- Full time tuition rates apply to students enrolled in 12 or more credits per semester or term.
Is financial aid available?
Yes
- Carthage Adult Education students are eligible for federal tuition assistance through the Free Application for Student Aid (FAFSA).
- The quickest way to apply is online at www.fafsa.ed.gov.
- Part-time accelerated students must be enrolled in at least four (4) credit hours per accelerated term to qualify for financial aid.
- Part-time semester students must be enrolled in at least six (6) credit hours per semester to qualify for financial aid.
Does Carthage accept transfer credit?
Yes
- First-time Carthage students must submit official transcripts from all colleges previously attended.
- The Carthage Registrar will review your transcripts and assign credit.
- Carthage will accept a maximum of 96 transfer credits
- Your transfer work must show a 2.50 grade point average to starting Adult Education courses. If your grade point average is lower, we recommend that you begin your studies in the part-time semester program.
How long will take to complete my degree?
With adequate transfer credit, you could complete your bachelor's degree in as little as two years.
