Master of Education: Overview

Through evening studies, students can earn their Master of Education, add additional teaching licenses to their existing professional license, or complete course work for personal enrichment.

The Master of Education program at Carthage fosters intellectual and professional learning opportunities within the context of a liberal arts education. Classes enable teachers to keep abreast of current issues relating to education such as curricula, counseling, guidance and administration. All courses meet Wisconsin teacher licensure requirements in selected areas and carry Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction (DPI) program approval.

Carthage offers a 36-credit graduate program in education with 11 specialized concentrations.

Carthage also offers accelerated certification for teachers, education licensing in reading (Reading 316 and 317 licenses), and education administration (81 Principal License). Students can add additional teaching licenses to their existing professional license, or complete coursework for personal enrichment.
