Archiving a Blackboard Course
|
|
|
Faculty can save the contents of a Blackboard course on
their own computer if you wish. The course can then be uploaded into
a entirely new course in Blackboard.
- Log into Blackboard and go to the course you want to archive.
- Click on the Control Panel
- Click on Course Utilities
- Click on Archive Course
- Select the areas of the course you want to archive and transfer
(most often you will want to check all the boxes and select each element
of the course). Click Submit.
- Wait while the server creates the archive
zip file.
- When complete you should see a screen
similar to this onet. Right click on where it says here to save the file to your
computer. In Internet Explorer you will “save target as.” In Netscape
you will “save link target as.” Save the file to a location on your
computer that you will remember. Most archiving cases will be like the
one at the right with no errors reported, in a few cases there may be
errors. Usually the errors will not be a problem. Still, note what they
are and download the course to your machine.
- Now that the course is saved to your machine it can be uploaded to
your new course.
