Services we do and don't provide


For students owning their own computers
Services not provided to student-owned computers include:

  • No hardware repair to printers, monitors, floppy drives, etc.
  • No installation or reinstallation of device drivers
  • No installation of network or wireless cards or devices
  • No repairs or reinstallations of Windows or other operating systems
  • No troubleshooting of any non-network problems or slowness of any kind
  • No assistance with software upgrades
  • No reinstallation or loaning of media for reinstallation of any software product or operating system (MS Office, Windows)

If your computer becomes infected with a virus or your room is turned off for excessive traffic, you will need to have your computer re-certified in order for your room to be turned back on. In this process, we will check for and install Symantec anti-virus, check for and remove any viruses, check for and remove spyware, and check for and remove peer-to- peer applications.

 
For students buying through the Purchase Plan
The above limitation for student-owned computers apply, except as follows:
  • Repairs to IBM/Lenovo equipment during the warranty period
