Florence Parry Heide is a resident of Kenosha and well-known children’s author.  She presented the Family Fun Night activities in the library. 

Mrs. Heide gave a book talk in the Niemann Theater in the library.

We  then moved to the Johnson Art Gallery to see the “One Author, Many Artist” art display. 

Mrs. Heide's many picture books have been illustrated by such artists as Victoris Chess, Cathryn Falwell, Jules Feiffer, Judy Glasser, Edward Gorey, Marilyn Hafner, Ted Lewin, Kenneth Longtemps, Wendell Minor, Mary Grand Pre, and Nadine Westcott, among others. Examples of their original art will be on display in the gallery.  The Carthage Bookstore sold copies of her books so anyone could get her autograph.
