October 28, 2005 - Celebrating Einstein and 2005 World Year of Physics

Society for Physics Students (SPS) under the guidance of Dr. Brian Schwartz presented demonstrations involving physics for the Library Family Fun Night from 6pm-7:30pm.There were a variety of demonstrations setup for hands-on activities involving physics. Spectroscopes were used to view the colors outside of the visible color spectrum.The electromagnetic spectrum is composed of various forms of light arranged according to wavelength.

physics1There was a hover craft experiment to show movement with air and a race track to show us how gravity can create speed and momentum.This is only a sample of the experiments that families were able to engage in.It was a colorful and educational evening that was enjoyed by everyone.
