These databases have been made available by their vendors for limited trials so that Carthage patrons can test the quality of their information and their ease of access. The products offered will change from time to time, so it is important to note the expiration dates and make the best use of the databases while they are available.

ONGOING DEMOS
Aluka
Aluka is building a networked digital library of scholarly resources from and about Africa, after the model of JSTOR. The name, 'Aluka,' is derived from a Zulu word meaning 'to weave,' reflecting its mission to create world-wide connections. The first content area is focused on African Plants, followed by Struggles for Freedom in Southern Africa, and African Cultural Heritage Sites and Landscapes. The trial will be available on campus only. An instruction manual can be found at
http://ts-den.aluka.org/fsi/img/raw/pdf/GettingStartedwithAluka.pdf
Foreign Affairs Full Access
Foreign Affairs is a premier publication in international relations, political science, and economics. Users can browse and search digital archives ranging from current issues back to 1973. Access will last indefinitely.
Carthage's Foreign Affairs trial is available only on campus, but numerous other fulltext versions of the journal can be found and accessed through Ebsco A-to-Z if you have a proxy installed on your browser and can login to the gray Hedberg form with your name and Carthage ID number.
AIS welcomes your comments. Please email them to databases@Carthage.edu. Substantive remarks will be especially appreciated.
