| Overdue Library Materials Policy |
BOOKS AND VIDEOCASSETTES The library does not charge fines for overdue material. When a book or videocassette is not returned by the due date, the library assumes the material is lost. Within seven days after a book or videocassette is due, the library will send a letter to the patron indicating that unless the material is returned within 5 days, a bill for $60/book ($45/item plus a $15/item non-refundable processing fee) will be sent to the Business Office. Until the material has been returned, the patron will not be able to check out any library material. If the material is still not returned within 14 days after the due date, the patron will receive a second letter stating that a bill for $60/item has been sent to the Business Office and added to their account. The patron will not be able to check out any library material until the matter is resolved. RESERVE MATERIALReserve material has loan periods of 2 hours or 3 days. Because reserve material is placed on Reserve by faculty for use by their students, failure to return material by the required time/date means other students cannot use it. For this type of material the library has instituted fines of $.50/hour up to a maximum of $5.00/day until the material is returned. Fines are to be paid at the Circulation desk. If you have any questions please contact the Library at x5900. |
