Major & Minor Requirements

The art program at Carthage College provides a range of experiences in the study of the visual arts for all Carthage students, no matter what their major. The Art Department offers majors in studio art and art history, and minors in studio art, art history and the cross-disciplinary history of the arts.

The culmination of a major in studio arts is the Senior Art Exhibition. The culmination of a major in art history is the public presentation of an original thesis.

Please note: Current students should work with their advisors and the department chair to ensure all requirements are met.
