Six Carthage Softball Players Named All-CCIW

Jacquelyn_Tassone_2First-team All-CCIW Honoree Jacquelyn TassoneSix Carthage College softball players were named 2008 All-CCIW.  First baseman Jacquelyn Tassone (So., Downers Grove, Ill./South, .421, seven doubles, 10 home runs, 28 RBI) earned first-team All-CCIW honors, while pitcher Kelsey Epping (So., Bloomington, Ill./Downs-Tri Valley, 10-5, 1.21 earned run average, 9.68 strikeouts per nine innings), catcher Jenny Burke (Jr. , Lemont, Ill., .270), second baseman Meghan Roman (So., Crestwood, Ill./Chicago-Marist, .287, 20 RBI, 10-of-10 stolen bases), outfielder Stephanie Noel (So., Homer Glen, Ill./Lockport Township, .333, four triples, 16 RBI) and shortstop Kari Peterson (Fr., Blooming Prairie, Minn., .359) earned second-team all-conference honors.  Burke was also a second-team All-CCIW honoree in 2007.
