2008:  Finished sixth in the 200 backstroke (1:59.85), seventh in the 100 backstroke (56.32) and 10th in the 200 individual medley at the CCIW Swimming Championship (2:02.42)

High School:  Named Macomb Daily All-Macomb County three-straight years, first team as a sophomore and second team both his junior and senior seasons…set 13 school records…his sophomore and junior-year squads won Macomb Area Conference titles, and his senior-year team won a county championship…his four teams compiled a 40-0-2 dual-meet record…coached by Brent Nielobevich…a 2007 YMCA national qualifier in both the 100 and 200 backstroke…coached by Mike Ownsby and Brad Voss for the Macomb YMCA Marlins…three-year member of the soccer team and played baseball his freshman year…National Honor Society member, Macomb Area Conference all-academic and honor student.

Personal:  Chemistry major…son of Steven and Beverly Alfes…a Carthage Lincoln Scholarship finalist…born Feb. 1, 1989.
