Brett Witt begins his fourth year as head men’s track and field coach in 2009 (142-62 indoor record, 119-53 outdoor record, 3 years) after six years as an assistant men's track and field coach. In addition to his track and field duties, Witt has served as Carthage’s men’s cross country coach since 2001. A native of Plover, Wis., Witt attended the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point, where he was an eight-time NCAA Division III All-American track and field distance runner and a five-time Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference champion, as well as GTE/CoSIDA Academic All-American. Witt graduated in 1998 with a bachelor's in communication. He received his master's in human performance and sport studies from the University of Tennessee in 1999, where he served as a graduate assistant coach in both cross country and track and field.

Joe Busalacchi begins his second year as an assistant coach in 2009 after serving as a part-time assistant in 2007. A native of Madison, Wis., Busalacchi attended the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater, where he will graduate in January 2008 with a bachelor’s in physical education with an adaptive physical education license. A four-year track and field letterwinner with the Warhawks, Busalacchi earned All-Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference honors twice in the javelin, twice in the weight throw and two times in the hammer throw. He also earned NCAA Division III All-American honors with a third-place finish in the hammer throw at the 2006 NCAA Division III Outdoor Track and Field Championship. Busalacchi works primarily with the Carthage throwers.
John Anderson begins his seventh year as a part-time assistant coach in 2009, working primarily with the pole vaulters. A native of Racine, Wis., Anderson graduated from Wisconsin-Parkside in 1985 with a bachelor’s in communications. He was a four-year member of the track and field team and still holds the Rangers’ school pole vault record (15-6). Anderson coached high school track and field for 12 years, most recently as head coach at Racine Washington Park High School (1994-2002) where his teams won three Wisconsin Interscholastic Athletic Association state championships. Anderson is the owner of Busy Bee Carpet Cleaning in Racine, Wis.
Lamont Dagen begins his fourth year as a part-time assistant coach in 2009, working with the jumpers. A native of Chicago, Dugan attended Chicago State University, where he won eight Mid-Continent Conference titles in the triple jump. Dugan graduated from Chicago State in 1999 and served as a volunteer assistant coach for the Cougars from 2000 to 2002, before moving on to the University of Wisconsin-Madison as a part-time assistant coach from 2002 to 2005. He is currently training for the U.S. Olympics team in the triple jump.
