Brett Witt begins his fifth year as head men’s track and field coach in 2010 (202-78 indoor record, 143-68-1 outdoor record, 5 years) after six years as an assistant men's track and field coach. In addition to his track and field duties, Witt has served as Carthage’s men’s cross country coach since 2001.
Since 2006, Witt has coached 20 individual CCIW champions, one CCIW “most valuable performer,” 21 NCAA Division III provisional qualifiers, eight national qualifiers and one NCAA Division III All-American. Under Witt’s guidance, the Red Men have set five indoor and four outdoor school records.
A native of Plover, Wis., Witt attended the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point, where he was an eight-time NCAA Division III All-American track and field distance runner and a five-time Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference champion, as well as a United States Track & Field Coaches Association All-Academic pick. Witt graduated in 1998 with a bachelor's in communication. He received his master's in human performance and sport studies from the University of Tennessee in 1999, where he served as a graduate assistant coach in both cross country and track and field. Witt was inducted into the Wisconsin-Stevens Point Athletic Hall of Fame in 2006.

Josh Whisman begins his first year as an assistant coach in 2010. Whisman served as an assistant coach at Wayne State College in 2009 after two years as a graduate assistant coach. He was named the United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association NCAA Division II North Central Region “Assistant Outdoor Coach of the Year” in 2008 after guiding Katie Wilson to a national championship in the women’s outdoor shot put. While coaching the Wildcats, Whisman guided three NCAA Division II All-Americans and 20 national qualifiers. A native of Columbus, Ohio, he attended the University of Tennessee and lettered three times for the Volunteers in the hammer throw, the shot put and the weight throw and qualified for the 2005 NCAA Division I Outdoor Track and Field Championship in the hammer throw. Whisman graduated from Tennessee in 2006 with a degree in sports management and served as a student assistant coach his senior year. He received his master’s in organizational management from Wayne State in 2008.

John Anderson begins his eighth year as a part-time assistant coach in 2010, working primarily with the pole vaulters. A native of Racine, Wis., Anderson graduated from Wisconsin-Parkside in 1985 with a bachelor’s in communications. He was a four-year member of the track and field team and still holds the Rangers’ school pole vault record (15-6). Anderson coached high school track and field for 12 years, most recently as head coach at Racine Washington Park High School (1994-2002) where his teams won three Wisconsin Interscholastic Athletic Association state championships. Anderson is the owner of Busy Bee Carpet Cleaning in Racine, Wis.
Lamont Dagen begins his fifth year as a part-time assistant coach in 2010, working with the short sprinters and the jumpers. Since 2006, Dagen has coached eight individual CCIW champions, seven conference runner-ups, four NCAA Division III provisional qualifiers, one national qualifier and one NCAA Division III All-American. A native of Chicago,
Dagen attended Chicago State University, where he won eight Mid-Continent Conference titles in the triple jump. Dagen graduated from Chicago State in 1999 and served as a volunteer assistant coach for the Cougars from 2000 to 2002, before moving on to the University of Wisconsin-Madison as a part-time assistant coach from 2002 to 2005. Dagen, a two-time U.S. Olympic trials participant in the triple jump (2004 and 2008), is currently a member of HPC Elite Track Club preparing for 2010 season.
