Physical Education Center
The Carthage College Physical Education Center opened in 1965. A new weight training facility was completed in September 1994 and new locker rooms were added in 1998. Renovations on on-third of the facility began in the spring of 2001 and were completed for intercollegiate volleyball and basketball in the fall of 2001. Those improvements included a new lighting, a refinished hardwood floor, new upper-bleacher seating, new restroom and new concession area. Additional renovations will continue in the spring of 2002. Upon completion, the facility will also contain three classrooms, a 140-seat theatre-style lecture hall, a fitness center, an indoor golf practice area, a conference room, three offices, five locker rooms and seating for approximately 2,400 spectators.
