Carthage played host to Eastern Illinois University in an April 25, 1964 doubleheader at Annie Reyer Field in Carthage, Ill.  In the opener, the  Panthers defeated the Red Men, 11-1, and the winning pitcher was Marty Pattin, an NAIA All-American that year and the national strikeout leader.  Pattin struck out 19 Red Men and walked one in that game.  Carthage lost to Pattin again in 1965, 16-1.  In June 1965, Pattin became a seventh-round draft pick of the California Angels and had a 13-year career in Major League Baseball.  Carthage won the second game, 1-0, to stop Eastern Illinois’ 15-game winning streak.  The Red Men opened the 1965 season with a three-game set in Charleston, Ill.

Perhaps Carthage's best rivalry, the Red Men first played the Titans on May 19, 1971, in an NAIA District 14 playoff game in Appleton, Wis., won by Wisconsin-Oshkosh.  The Titans won the next meeting on May 19, 1973, also in NAIA playoff action, in Stevens Point, Wis.  On May 18, 1974, in another NAIA District 14 playoff, Carthage and Wisconsin-Oshkosh played three times, with Carthage winning the second game, 7-4, to force a final championship game that the Titans won by a 12-8 margin.  The two teams split a regular-season twinbill in Oshkosh, Wis., on April 20, 1980.  The following year, the Titans shut out the Red Men by identical 10-0 scores in an April 17, 1981 doubleheader at Carthage.  Five years later, in 1986, Wisconsin-Oshkosh bombed Carthage twice in a regular-season twinbill in Oshkosh, 12-0 and 20-4.  In 1992, the two teams played each other three times in two days in the championship round of the NCAA Midwest Regional at Oshkosh North High School in Oshkosh, Wis.  The Red Men defeated the Titans, 5-1, on May 15, but Wisconsin-Oshkosh came back the next day to beat Carthage twice, 6-0 and 6-5, to win the regional championship.  In 1993, Carthage was moved out of the Midwest Region into the Central Region, where the Red Men won their first regional title.  Carthage ran into Wisconsin-Oshkosh in the semifinals of the 1993 NCAA Division III Baseball Championship and were eliminated by the Titans, 5-2, on May 31 in Battle Creek, Mich.  The 1994 national championship brought a repeat, as Wisconsin-Oshkosh again eliminated Carthage in the semifinals, 11-0, also in Battle Creek.  The two teams met in the opening round of the 1995 NCAA Division III Baseball Championship, and the Titans, behind left-handed starting pitcher Jarrod Washburn, defeated the Red Men, 7-2, in Salem, Va.  Carthage won a 3-2 decision on March 14, 2004 in Port Charlotte, Fla., and the two teams split a March 15, 2006 twinbill, also in Port Charlotte.  Carthage and UW-Oshkosh renewed their NCAA-regional rivalry on May 14, 2008, with the Red Men winning a 6-3 game over the Titans in the first round of the Midwest regional at Oshkosh North High School.  The two teams lest played on March 19, 2011, with Carthage winning a 6-1 game in North Port, Fla.
