2007-08 Carthage Men's Basketball Travel Plans

Nov. 16-17 at Westminster (Pa.) “Buzz Ridl Classic”:  The team will leave campus on Thursday, Nov. 15, stay overnight on Nov. 15-16 at the Holiday Inn Youngstown-North Metroplex Center (1620 Motor Inn Drive, 330-759-0606) in Girard, Ohio, and return on Saturday night, Nov. 17.

Nov. 30-Dec. 1 at the CCIW/MIAA Classic: The team will leave campus on Friday, Nov. 30 at 9 a.m. stay overnight at the Ramada Plaza in Grand, Rapids, Mich. (3333 28th Street, SE, 616-949-3841) and return on Saturday night, Dec. 1.  To reach Calvin College in Grand Rapids, Mich., follow I-294 around Chicago, Ill.  Exit I-294 at I-94 east.  Exit I-94 at I-196 toward Grand Rapids.  Exit I-196 at East Beltline Road in Grand Rapids (exit #38), which is just after I-196 merges with I-96.  Turn right off the ramp onto East Beltline and go through four stop lights.  Just past Lake Drive, which is the fourth light, turn west into the main campus entrance.  The Calvin College Arena will be on the right.

Dec. 5 at Trinity International (Ill.):  The team will leave campus at 5 p.m. and return immediately following the game.  To reach Trinity International University (Ill.) in Deerfield, Ill., follow I-94 south into Illinois.  Exit I-94 at Illinois Route 22 (Half Day Road) and turn left (east).  The campus and the Meyer Sports Complex is on Half Day Road, about a quarter-mile from I-94 on the right.

Dec. 10 at East-West University:  East-West University will play its 2007-08 home schedule at Kennedy King College, 6301 S. Halsted Avenue, in Chicago.  To reach that facility, follow I-94 past downtown Chicago.  Exit I-94 at 63rd Street west.  Turn left at Halsted Avenue, and the gymnasium will be on the left, on the east side of Halsted.

Dec. 17-18 at the Southwest/Trinity Classic:  The team will fly from Mitchell Field in Milwaukee, Wis., to the San Antonio International Airport on Sunday, Dec. 16, via Northwest Airlines, stay overnight on Dec. 16-20 at the Comfort Inn Alamo Riverwalk (120 Camaron Street, 800-233-4990) and return on Friday, Dec. 21.

Jan. 9 at Wheaton (Ill.):  The team will leave campus at 2:30 p.m. and return immediately following the game.  To reach Wheaton College (Ill.) in Wheaton, Ill., follow I-294 to I-88 (East-West Tollway).  Exit at Naperville Road and turn left at the bottom of the ramp.  Follow Naperville Road north for approximately six miles to Roosevelt Road and turn right.  Turn left at the President Street traffic light.  Cross the railroad tracks and go past College Avenue.  Turn left at University Street, which dead-ends at Chase Street, just north of the student center.  Turn right at Chase to reach the Sports and Recreation Complex parking lots.

Jan. 16 at Elmhurst:  The team will leave campus at 2:30 p.m. and return immediately following the game.  To reach Elmhurst College in Elmhurst, Ill., follow I-294 south.  Exit I-294 at I-290 west and exit immediately at North Avenue (Illinois Highway 64).  Follow North Avenue into Elmhurst and go past York Road.  After York road, take the third left (Maple Avenue).  Follow southbound Maple Avenue across the railroad tracks and turn right at the first street (Walter Street).  R.A. Faganel Hall faces Walter Street on the right.

Jan. 26 at Millikin:  The team will leave campus at 11:30 a.m. and return immediately following the game.  To reach Millikin University in Decatur, Ill., follow I-294 around Chicago, Ill.  Exit I-294 at I-55 south to Bloomington, Ill.  Exit I-55 at I-74 east in Bloomington and go to U.S. Highway 51 south to Decatur.  Follow Business U.S. 51 to El Dorado Street (U.S. Highway 36).  Turn left on Oakland and follow to the Griswold Center.

Feb. 2 at Illinois Wesleyan:  The men’s and women’s teams will leave campus at 11:30 a.m. and return immediately following the game.  To reach Illinois Wesleyan University in Bloomington, Ill., follow I-294 around Chicago, Ill.  Exit I-294 at I-55 south to Bloomington, Ill.  Exit I-55 at Business U.S.-51 south and go past Illinois State University.  Turn left on Emerson Street and cross westbound U.S.-51 to Illinois Wesleyan campus and the Shirk Center.

Feb. 9 at Augustana (Ill.):  The team will leave campus at 11:30 a.m. and return immediately after the game.  To reach Augustana College (Ill.) in Rock Island, Ill., follow I-294 around Chicago, Ill.  Exit I-294 at I-88 west  (I-88 becomes Illinois Highway 5 after once past I-80 near the Quad Cities).  Follow Highway 5 until 38th Street in Rock Island (not 38th Street in Moline).  Follow 38th Street two miles, down a hill and turn left on 7th Avenue, then an immediate right into the Carver Physical Education Center parking lot.

Feb. 16 at North Central:  The team will leave campus at 2:30 p.m. and return immediately following the game. To reach North Central College in Naperville, Ill., follow I-294 south around Chicago, Ill.  Exit I-294 at I-88 (East-West Tollway).  Go west on I-88 and exit at Naperville Road.  Turn right (south) at the bottom of the ramp and follow Naperville Road several miles south.  Turn right at Chicago Avenue and continue for several miles.  Turn left on Brainard and follow the road to the right to North Central College’s athletic complex and Gregory Arena.

Feb. 20 at North Park:  The team will leave campus at 2:30 p.m. and return immediately following the game.  To reach North Park University in Chicago, Ill., follow I-94 toward Chicago.  Exit at Cicero Avenue and turn left at the first light (Foster Avenue).  Go two or three miles to reach campus and the North Park Gymnasium on the right, at the corner of Foster and Kedzie.
