2009 Carthage Men’s Volleyball Travel Plans

 

Jan. 14 at Loyola (Ill.):  To reach Loyola University (Ill.) in Chicago, Ill., follow I-94 south into Chicago.  Exit I-94 at Touhy Road east to the Chicago lakefront.  Turn right at Sheridan Road.  Where Sheridan Road and Devon Avenue merge, turn left and proceed to Kenmore Avenue.  Turn left at Kenmore and proceed to the Loyola Parking Structure and Alumni Gym.

 

Jan. 21 at Lewis:  To reach Lewis University in Romeoville, Ill., follow I-294 around Chicago and exit at I-55.  Exit I-55 at Illinois Highway 53 (Exit 267) and follow Highway 53 south for eight miles through Romeoville.  Go past Romeo Road.  Turn right at University Parkway and follow the signs to the John F. Kennedy Sports Center.

 

Jan 24-25 at Fontbonne/Lindenwood/Quincy:  To reach Quincy University in Quincy, Ill., follow I-294 around Chicago, Ill.  Exit I-294 at I-55 south toward St. Louis, Mo.  Follow I-55 across the Mississippi River into St. Louis and take I-64/U.S. 40 west of downtown.  Exit I-64/U.S. 40 at Clayton Road.  Turn right (north) at South Big Bend Boulevard and right at Wydown Boulevard.  Go past the main entrance to campus and turn right at the second entrance to reach the Dunham Student Activity Center.  To reach Lindenwood University, located in St. Charles, Mo., from Fontbonne, return to I-64 and go west.  Exit I-64 at I-270 north.  Exit I-270 at I-70 west.  Exit I-70 at Missouri Highway 94 east, which becomes First Capitol.  Turn left at Kings Highway and Lindenwood is on the left.  Follow the drive to other end of campus and the Hyland Performance Arena.  To reach Quincy University, located in Quincy, Ill., from Lindenwood, return to I-70 and go west. Exit I-70 at U.S. Highway 61 north.  Exit U.S. 61 at U.S. Highway 24 east across the Mississippi River.  In Quincy, U.S. 24 becomes Maine Street.  Turn left at 18th Street and go five blocks to campus.  Turn right at Oak Street, and Memorial Gymnasium is on the left.

 

Jan. 30-31 at Clarke/St. Ambrose:  To reach Clarke College in Dubuque, Iowa, take Wisconsin Highway 50 west from Kenosha to Lake Geneva.  In Lake Geneva, take U.S. Highway 12 to I-43 and follow I-43 into Beloit (I-43 becomes Milwaukee Road in Beloit).  Follow Wisconsin Highways 81/11 west to Monroe, Wis., where the two road split.  Stay on Highway 11 west toward Dubuque, Iowa.  Just east of the Mississippi River, Highway 11 ends at U.S. Highway 61.  Follow Highway 61 south across the river and into Dubuque.  Exit U.S. Highway 61 at U.S. Highway 20 west.  Turn right at Grandview Avenue and turn into Clarke Drive to reach the Kehl Center.  To reach St. Ambrose University, in Davenport, Iowa, from Clarke, follow U.S. 61 south into Davenport, where it becomes Brady Street. Turn right at the Gaines Street stop light for St. Ambrose University and the Lee Lohman Arena.

 

Feb. 6 at Indiana University-Purdue University at Fort Wayne:  To reach Indiana University-Purdue University in Fort Wayne, Ind., follow I-94 through Chicago.  Exit I-94 at I-65 south.  Exit I-65 at U.S. Highway 30 east to Fort Wayne.  In Fort Wayne, go past U.S. Highway 27 where U.S. 30 becomes Coliseum Boulevard.  The campus will be on the left just past Allen County War Memorial Coliseum.  Go over the bridge and turn left at the second stop light (Cresent Ave.).  At the next stop light, turn left and follow the signs to the Hilliard Gates Sports Center.

March 4 at Cardinal Stritch:  To reach Cardinal Stritch University in Milwaukee, Wis., follow I-94 north through Milwaukee.  Exit I-94 at I-43 toward Green Bay.  Exit I-43 at Good Hope Road (Exit 80, 7200 north).  Go right (east) on Good Hope Road.  Turn right at Port Washington Road, going south, for about four blocks.  Go through the intersection of Port Washington and Green Tree, and look for a Cardinal Stritch sign on the left.  Stritch Gym is on the right just past the soccer field.

 

March 13-14 at Carthage “Spring Break Invitational”:  Travel plans TBA.

 

March 25 at the Milwaukee School of Engineering Invitational:  To reach the Milwaukee School of Engineering in Milwaukee, Wis., take I-94 north to Milwaukee, Wis.  Exit I-94 at I-794 east.  Exit I-794 at North Broadway.  The Milwaukee School of Engineering and the Kern Center are at 1245 N. Broadway.
