The Lady Reds lost to the Britons, 69-55, on Dec. 17, 2001, in Albion, Mich., but won a 68-56 decision at the Carthage Physical Education Center on Jan. 4, 2003.

The Saints defeated Carthage, 69-49, on Jan. 7, 1983, in the Northern Michigan University Invitational in Marquette, Mich.

Augustana (Ill.)

The series with the Vikings began on March 13, 1915. The two schools played again in 1916, 1975 and 1978 before beginning CCIW competition in 1986-87.

Carthage first played the Spartans on Nov. 23, 1987, in Aurora, Ill. The two teams last played on Dec. 18, 2007 with Carthage winning a 71-46 game in Kenosha, Wis.

Cardinal Stritch

Cardinal Stritch defeated Carthage, 65-62, on Nov. 21, 1989, 65-58 on Jan. 31, 1998, 84-48, on Dec. 4, 1999, and 68-49 on Dec. 2, 2000, the first three games in Milwaukee, Wis.

Carroll (Wis.)

The Lady Reds and the Cougars played a home-and-home series, with Carthage losing at Chicago State on Feb. 4, 1983, but winning at home, 67-42, on Feb. 21, 1984.

Clarke

The Lady Reds defeated the Red Devils, 71-54, on Nov. 30, 2001 in the first round of the Greenville College Tournament.

The Bulldogs defeated Carthage, 74-50, on Dec. 15, 1996, at the Carthage Physical Education Center.

Carthage and Lawrence played a four-game, home-and-home series between 1994 and 1997.

Lewis

The series began on Feb. 17, 1977, and included a Carthage appearance in the 1981 Lewis University Invitational. The two teams last played on Feb. 17, 1984.

Loras

The Lady Reds’ first game against the Duhawks was on Jan. 24, 1976, in the second game of a rare doubleheader played at Wisconsin-Platteville. The two teams played again on Dec. 18, 2003, with the Duhawks winning a 63-60 decision at the Carthage PEC. The last meeting resulted in a 58-52 Carthage victory on Dec. 9, 2006 in Kenosha, Wis.

The Ramblers defeated Carthage, 82-68, on Jan. 9, 1982, at Alumni Gym in Chicago, Ill.

The Lady Reds upended the Hornets, 74-42, on Dec. 29, 2006 in the first round of the Otterbein “Smokey Ballenger Classic” in Westerville, Ohio.

MacMurray

The two schools played once in the 1940-41 season (score not available) and again on Jan. 7, 1989, in the Aurora University Invitational.

Madonna

The Crusaders defeated the Lady Reds, 95-79, on Dec. 4, 1992, in the Hope College Invitational in Holland, Mich.

Manchester

Carthage won a 54-43 game over the Spartans on Dec. 20, 2004 in North Manchester, Ind. The Lady Reds lost a 58-55 game on Dec. 16, 2007 at the Carthage Physical Education Center.

Maranatha Baptist Bible

Carthage defeated Maranatha Baptist Bible, 90-8, on Jan. 6, 1977, in Watertown, Wis. The Lady Reds held the NCAA Division III record for fewest points allowed prior to SUNY-Binghamton’s 99-6 win over York on Nov. 22, 1995.

Marian (Wis.)

Carthage and Marian played a home-and-home series for four seasons starting in 1991-92 and ending with the 1994-95 campaign. The series resumed for the 1998-99 season.

Marquette

Carthage’s first game against the Golden Eagles was a WWIAC contest on Jan. 17, 1976. The series continued with four non-conference games in the mid 1980s, with the last meeting taking place on Dec. 4, 1985.

Mary Hardin-Baylor

Carthage defeated Mary Hardin-Baylor, 69-64, on Dec. 28, 2007 at the Trinity (Texas) “Holiday Classic.”

McKendree

McKendree played in both the 1995 and 1996 Carthage/Firstar Classics.

Michigan Tech

Carthage’s first two games with the Huskies were in the 1978 and 1979 Wisconsin-Green Bay Invitationals. The last game in the series was on Dec. 10, 1982, in the Wisconsin-Stevens Point Invitational.

Midland Lutheran

The Lady Reds played the Lady Warriors in both the 1977 and 1978 Lutheran Brotherhood Tournaments at Luther College in Decorah, Iowa.

Millikin

The Lady Reds began their series with the Big Blue on Jan. 13, 1986, with the start of CCIW women’s athletics.

Monmouth

The Lady Reds defeated Fighting Scots, 60-49, on Nov. 20, 1998 in the first round of the Firstar/Carthage Classic. Monmouth returned the favor by nipping the Lady Reds, 67-65,on Nov. 19, 1999, also in the first round of the Firstar/Carthage Classic. Carthage defeated Monmouth, 87-52, in the Lady Reds’ 2002 season-opener and 74-46 in the 2005 season-opener.

National-Louis

Carthage played National-Louis five times between 1980 and 1992. National-Louis no longer sponsors varsity sports.

Nebraska Wesleyan

The Lady Reds lost to the Plainswomen, 64-44, in the championship game of the 1998 Firstar/Carthage Classic.

Neumann

Carthage won an 88-37 decision over the Knights on Dec. 29, 2004 at the Grand Canyon Classic in Phoenix, Ariz.

North Central

Carthage first played North Central in a Jan. 17, 1980, non-conference game in Naperville, Ill. The two schools hooked up again in the December 1980 North Central Invitational and in the 1982 and 1983 Carthage Invitationals before playing seven Chicago Metro Conference games between 1983 and 1986. Both schools are now members of the CCIW.

North Park

Carthage’s first game against North Park was on Jan. 18, 1974. Play has continued through Chicago Metro Conference and CCIW competition.

Northeast Missouri State

Carthage lost to the Bulldogs, 71-60, in the 1981 Northern Illinois University Invitational.

Northeastern Illinois

Carthage’s only loss in this nine-game series was the first game, a 40-36 win for the Golden Eagles on Jan. 21, 1974. The last meeting took place on Nov. 30, 1982.

Northern Illinois

The Lady Reds’ only game against the Huskies was a 93-86 loss on Jan. 19, 1980, in DeKalb, Ill. The Lady Reds played in both the 1981 and 1982 Northern Illinois University Invitationals, but the two schools did not meet.

Northern Michigan

The Lady Reds first played the Wildcats on Feb. 4, 1977, in the Wisconsin-Green Bay Invitational. On March 6, 1980, Northern Michigan defeated Carthage, 95-76, in Midwest Association of Intercollegiate Athletics for Women (MAIAW) Midwest Regional play. The Huskies played in the 1982 Carthage Invitational, and the Lady Reds returned the favor by playing in the 1983 Northern Michigan University Invitational The last time the two schools played, Carthage won an 88-85 double overtime game on Feb. 18, 1984, in Kenosha, Wis.

Northland

The Lumberjills played at the Carthage Physical Education Center on Jan. 23, 1983. Carthage traveled to Ashland, Wis., the following December and again in December 1988 to play in the Northland College Invitational. Carthage won a 51-48 game on Dec. 16, 2003 at the Carthage PEC, and the Lady Reds won a 59-49 contest on Dec. 11, 2004 in Ashland.

Oklahoma Christian

The Lady Reds lost to the Lady Eagles, 70-56, on Dec. 31, 1998 in the Webber College Tournament.

Olivet

Carthage lost to the Comets, 66-56, on Dec. 1, 1990, in the St. Mary’s of Notre Dame Invitational.

Carthage played St. Norbert for the first time on March 3, 1979. The two schools played again in both the 1980 and 1981 Wisconsin-Green Bay Invitationals.

Shenandoah

Carthage defeated the Hornets, 83-74, on Dec. 16, 2000, in Winchester, Va.

Silver Lake

The Lady Reds defeated the Lakers, 67-60, on Feb. 11, 1997, in Manitowoc, Wis. Carthage was scheduled to play Silver Lake on Feb. 4, 1985, at the Carthage Physical Education Center, but the game was canceled. The schools played twice in the 1997-98 and again in the 1998-99 season.

Southeast Missouri State

Both of the Lady Reds’ games against Otahkians came in the Northern Illinois University Invitational, the first in 1981 and the other in the 1982 tournament.

Carthage lost to the Cougars, 65-56, in the 1982 Northern Illinois University Invitational.

Trinity University

Carthage defeated Trinity (Texas), 70-61, on Dec. 29, 2007 in the Trinity “Holiday Classic.”

Trinity Christian

The two schools first played on Feb. 10, 1970 (no score available), and played five times in the late 1980s and early 1990s. The last meeting was on Dec. 5, 1992, in the Hope College Invitational, with Trinity Christian winning by an 84-77 margin.

Trinity International (Ill.)

The Lady Reds defeated the Trojans, 76-50, on Jan. 15, 1987, at the Carthage Physical Education Center. The two teams last played on Nov. 21, 2006, with Carthage winning a 69-37 decision in Deerfield, Ill.

Wheaton (Ill.)

The Lady Reds played the Crusaders six times in Chicago Metro Conference games before beginning CCIW play in 1986-87. Wheaton defeated Carthage, 72-71, on Feb. 28, 1996, in opening-round play of the NCAA Division III Women’s Basketball Championship. The Thunder have eliminated the Lady Reds four times in first-round play at the CCIW Women’s Basketball Tournament, winning, 72-71 in overtime, in 2003, winning, 71-49, in 2004, winning, 57-45, in 2006, and winning a 57-53 game in 2007.

Winona State

Both of Carthage’s games against the Warriors came in the Wisconsin-Platteville Invitational, the first in 1980 and the other in the 1981 tournament.

Wisconsin-Eau Claire

The Lady Reds and the Blugolds played three times in WWIAC action in the mid 1970s.

Wisconsin-Green Bay

The Lady Reds first played the Phoenix on Jan. 24, 1975, and the series continued with appearances in the 1978 and 1979 Wisconsin-Green Bay Invitationals and with WWIAC play through the early 1980s. The last game in the series was on Feb. 27, 1982.

Wisconsin-La Crosse

The Eagles defeated the Lady Reds, 77-36, on March 2, 1973, in a WWIAC game in Eau Claire, Wis.

Wisconsin-Madison

The Lady Reds played the Badgers six times between 1972 and 1977 when both schools were part of the WWIAC. The last meeting was on Feb. 15, 1977, and Carthage lost to Wisconsin-Madison, 79-72, in Kenosha, Wis.

Wisconsin-Milwaukee

The Lady Reds and the Panthers played together in the WWIAC from 1971 to 1982. The two schools last played with a home-and-home series in the 1983 season.

Wisconsin-Oshkosh

The series began on March 23, 1968, continued with seven WWIAC games between 1971 and 1976, and resumed in the 1997 season.
