2008-09 Carthage Women's Golf Travel Plans

Aug. 29 at the Robert Morris “Fall Classic”:  The Robert Morris College-Lake County “Fall Classic” will be played at the Foss Park Golf Course in North Chicago, Ill.   To reach that facility, follow I-294 south toward Chicago.  Exit I-294 at Illinois Highway 120 east.  Turn right at Green Bay Road and turn at Argonne Drive.  The course is at 3124 Argonne Drive.

Aug. 30-31 at the Illinois College Invitational:  The Illinois College Invitational will be played at the Links Course at Nichols Park in Jacksonville, Ill.  To reach that facility, follow I-294 around Chicago, Ill.  Exit I-294 at I-55 south.  Take I-55 around Springfield, Ill., and exit I-55 at I-72 west.  Exit I-72 at the first Jacksonville exit (Country Road 36) and turn right.  Country Road 36 becomes Illinois Highway 104 and then East Morton Avenue as you approach Jacksonville.  Turn left at Hardin Avenue and turn left at Vandalia Road.  The course is on the corner of Vandalia Road and Nichols Park Road.

Sept. 6 at the Monmouth “Fighting Scots Invitational”:  The Monmouth College “Fighting Scots Invitational” will be played at the Gibson Woods Golf Course in Monmouth, Ill.  To reach that course from Galesburg, follow U.S. Highway 34 west to Monmouth, approximately 20 miles.  In Monmouth, U.S. 34 merges with Illinois Highway 164 west.  Turn left on 11th Street and follow for one mile.  Turn right on Broadway Avenue and follow for three-quarters of a mile to Monmouth Park and the Gibson Woods Golf Course.

Sept. 9 at the North Central “Cardinal Classic”:  The North Central College “Cardinal Classic” will be played at the Cress Creek Country Club in Naperville, Ill.  To reach that facility, follow I-294 around Chicago, Ill.  Exit I-294 at I-88 (East-West Tollway).  Exit I-88 at Illinois Highway 59 south.  Turn left at North Aurora Road, which becomes West Ogden Avenue.  Turn left at Royal St. George Drive, and the Cress Creek Country Club is on the left.

Sept. 12 at the Carthage Invitational:  The 2008 Carthage College Women’s Golf Invitational will be played at the Bristol Oaks Country Club in Bristol, Wis.  That facility is located on Wisconsin Highway 50, just west of I-94, at 16801 75th Street.

Sept. 13-14 at the Wisconsin-Whitewater Invitational:  The Wisconsin-Whitewater Invitational will be played at the Prairie Woods Golf Course in Avalon, Wis.  To reach that course, take Wisconsin Highway 50 west out of Kenosha, Wis.  Exit Highway 50 at U.S. Highway 12 in Lake Geneva, Wis.  Exit U.S. 12 at County Road A west (about four miles north of Lake Geneva).  Follow County Road A for about nine miles to 12601 County Highway A.  The course is east of Janesville, Wis., and eight miles east of U.S. Highway 14.

Sept. 20-21 at the Illinois Wesleyan “Fall Classic”:  The Illinois Wesleyan University “Fall Classic” will be played at the Ironwood Golf Course in Normal, Ill.  To reach that course, take I-94 south toward Chicago and follow I-294 around the city.  Exit I-294 at I-55 south.  Exit I-55 at Veterans Parkway just north of Bloomington.  Veterans Parkway merges into County Road 31.  Take a slight left onto the I-55 Business Route and follow the signs for Illinois State University and Normal, Ill.  Turn right at East Raab Road.  Turn right again at North Towanda Avenue, and Ironwood Golf Course is at 1901 N. Towanda Avenue.

Sept. 27-28 at the Millikin “Red Tail Invitational”:  The Millikin University “Red Tail Invitational” will be played at the Red Tail Run Golf Club in Decatur, Ill.  To reach that facility, follow I-55 south to Bloomington.  Exit I-55 at I-74 east in Bloomington.  Exit I-74 at U.S. Highway 51 south and follow to Decatur.  Follow Business U.S. 51 through and past downtown Decatur.  Go past Lake Decatur on the south side of town, follow the signs for Pana, Ill., and go past the Borg-Warner Softball Complex.  About a mile past Borg-Warner, turn left at Grove Street, and the golf course is at 520 W. Grove Street.

Oct. 3-4 at the CCIW Women’s Golf Championship:  North Central College will play host to the 2008 CCIW Women’s Golf Championship at the Springbrook Golf Course in Naperville, Ill.  To reach that facility, o reach that facility, follow I-294 around Chicago, Ill.  Exit I-294 at I-88 (East-West Tollway).  Exit I-88 at Illinois Highway 59 south.  Turn left at 83rd Street, and the golf course is on the right.
