2008 Carthage Women’s Soccer Pre-Season and
Reporting Information
- Check-in and moving into
the dormitories date for women’s soccer players will be Friday, Aug. 15,
2008.
- All Carthage soccer
players, including newcomers and returnees, should have received a 2008
Carthage athletic department information package. By no later than June
30th, all incoming players will also receive a package including the
“red-covered” soccer information booklet. If you do not receive these mailings
by July 1, please call the Carthage athletic office at 262-551-5942 or
Steve Domin at 262-551-5930 as soon as possible.
- These athletic department
packages will contain information on check-in dates, move-in dates,
starting times, meeting places, a practice schedule, important phone
numbers, a 2008 game schedule, what to bring, and work-out information for
both training and practices.
- Women’s soccer players will
check in with the Carthage Dean of Students on the first day. The dean of
students office will contact you over the summer with information
regarding their procedures for check-in. Remember--the room you check into
is your room for the entire school year. The check-in schedules with The
Dean of Students Office will be arranged to fit the soccer check-in.

- All Carthage athletes
are required to have a physical dated on/or after June 1, 2008. Athletes cannot begin practice or competition
without completing and passing a physical. You must get a written
note on your doctor’s letterhead stating that you are in appropriate heath
to compete in collegiate athletics.
- On Aug. 15, women’s soccer
players will check-in with the Dean of Students (in the Todd Wehr Center
or TWC) between 9 a.m. - Noon. This is where you pick up room keys and
student identification cards and begin moving in. The college has arranged
for an informal picnic for all fall sport athletes checking in on Aug. 15
in the TWC Dinning Hall. You and your family are welcome to enjoy lunch
anytime between Noon and 1 p.m. This is not a team function. After lunch
and check-in, men’s soccer players are required to meet in the Tarble
Athletics & Recreation Center, or TARC, at 1 p.m. to begin athlete
check-in. This is when you will fill out your NCAA forms, take head shot
photos, and complete any missing information for the sports information
director Steve Marovich (most of you have already completed the S.I.D.
Questionnaire Form and returned it during advanced registration). You
will need to have your physical and medical forms with you at this
check-in.
- Incoming parents are
encourage to attend a brief informational meeting at 1:30 p.m. in the
chapel with the coaches and the athletic director.
- Soccer players will have a
team meeting that first day in the Todd Wehr Center, Jockey Room (4 p.m.).
Information regarding this meeting will be included in the summer
information package. You will need to bring your “red-covered” soccer
packet with you for this meeting.
- Dinner on Aug. 15 will be
served in the Todd Wehr Center Dining Hall between 5-6 p.m. This is not
a team function, and we encourage you to spend that time with your family
and/or your teammates.
- Soccer athletes interested
in ordering extra apparel are encourage to get their order forms back into
the soccer office by July 15. The address is: Carthage College Soccer
