2011 Carthage Women's Soccer Travel Information

 

Aug. 27-Sept. 4 in Southern California:  The team will leave campus at 5:30 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 27 and stay at Crowne Plaza (300 N. Harbor Drive, 310-318-8888) in Redondo Beach, Calif., before returning home on Saturday, Sept. 3.

 

Sept.  8-11 at the Rutgers-Newark “Raider Classic”:  The team will leave campus on Thursday, Sept. 8 at 4:30 p.m. and stay at the Hampton Inn & Suites (100 Passiac Ave., 973-483-1900) in Harrison, N.J., before returning home on Sunday, Sept. 11.

 

Sept. 11-12 at the Loras/Wisconsin-Platteville Invitational:  The team will leave campus on Friday, Sept.10 and stay overnight on Sept. 10-11 at the Holiday Inn in Dubuque, Iowa (450 Main Street, 563-556-2000).  To reach the Loras College Rock Bowl in Dubuque, Iowa, take Wisconsin Highway 50 west from Kenosha to Lake Geneva.  In Lake Geneva, take U.S. Highway 12 to I-43 and follow I-43 into Beloit (I-43 becomes Milwaukee Road in Beloit).  Follow Wisconsin Highways 81/11 west to Monroe, Wis., where the two road split.  Stay on Highway 11 west toward Dubuque, Iowa.  Just east of the Mississippi River, Highway 11 ends at U.S. Highway 61.  Follow Highway 61 south across the river and into Dubuque.  Exit at Iowa Highway 20 and turn right.  Use the Grandview Avenue exit and turn right again at the stoplight.  Go through two stop signs and turn right at Loras Boulevard.

 

Sept. 18 at Lake Forest:  To reach Lake Forest College in Lake Forest, Ill., follow U.S. Highway 41 south from Kenosha and turn left on Deerpath Road.  Follow Deerpath through the Lake Forest business district and across the railroad tracks.  Stay on Deerpath and at the next stop sign you’ll be facing the entrance to North Campus facing the entrance to the College's North Campus.  Turn right on Sheridan Road.  Go past the entrance for the middle campus and go past Rosemary Road on the right.  Turn right on Maplewood Road, go past the Sports Center on your left and turn left at Washington Road.  Halas Hall is on the right, and Farwell Field is located behind the building.

 

Sept. 21 at Carroll (Wis.):  To reach Carroll University, take I-94 west through Milwaukee.  Exit at Wisconsin Highway 164, which will become E. North Street) in Waukesha.  Follow North Street for three traffic lights and turn left at Barstow.  Follow Barstow for about 12 blocks, and Schneider Stadium will be on the right.  Alternatively, exit I-94 at U.S. Highway 18 (East Moreland Blvd.).  Follow Moreland, and where the road splits, follow the left fork (East Main Street).  Turn left on North East Avenue, right on College Street and right on Barstow to reach Schneider Stadium.

 

Oct. 4 at the University of Chicago:  To reach the University of Chicago, follow I-294 south and exit at I-94 east to downtown Chicago.  Exit I-94 at I-55 north to Lake Shore Drive south.  Exit Lake Shore Drive at 53rd Street west.  Go eight blocks and turn left at Woodlawn Avenue.  Turn right onto 55th Street and proceed to Cottage Grove Avenue--you will see Stagg Field on your left.  Turn left onto Cottage Grove Avenue, then turn left onto 56th Street.  The entrances to Stagg Field will be on your left.  Free parking is available after 4 p.m. on weekdays and all day on weekends in the parking garage located at the corner of 55th Street and Ellis Avenue.  The garage is available to visitors for a fee at all other times.  Free parking is also available on the street.  Parking rules are strictly enforced.  Please observe all signs in parking areas and on the street.

 

Oct. 12 at Wheaton (Ill.):  To reach Wheaton College (Ill.) in Wheaton, Ill., follow I-294 to I-88 (East-West Tollway).  Exit at Naperville Road and go left at the bottom of the ramp.  Follow Naperville Road north to Roosevelt Road and turn right.  Go three or four blocks to Chase Street and turn left.  Cross railroad tracks and Joe Bean Stadium is on the right, near the football field.

 

Oct. 15 at Millikin:  Millikin University plays its home soccer contests at the Millikin Soccer Complex, on an on-campus facility in located at the corner of Fairview Avenue and Wood Street in Decatur, Ill.  To reach that site, follow I-55 south to Bloomington.  Exit I-74 east in Bloomington and go to U.S. Highway 51 south to Decatur.  Follow Business U.S. 51 to El Dorado Street (U.S. Highway 36) in downtown Decatur and turn left.  Go past the football field and stay or El Dorado as it veers left.  Turn left on Fairview Avenue for three blocks, and the field is just south of the Decatur Indoor Sports Center (DISC).

 

Oct. 17 at St. Norbert:  St. Norbert College plays its home soccer at Donald J. Schneider Stadium on the west side of De Pere, Wis.  To reach that facility, follow I-94 north to Milwaukee.  Exit I-94 at I-43 north to Green Bay.  Exit I-43 at Wisconsin Highway 172 (exit #180).  Take the Webster Avenue exit, go left at the fork and continue to follow Wisconsin Highway 172.  At the next fork, stay to the right and follow Wisconsin Highway 57.  Stay left at the next fork and follow the signs for Riverside Drive/Highway 57.  At the traffic circle, take the first exit onto Main Avenue.  Turn left at South 6th Street.  Turn left at Reid Street.  Take the third right onto 3rd Street.  Continue onto Lost Dauphin Road, and the stadium will be on the right.

 

Oct. 19 at Dubuque:  To reach the University of Dubuque in Dubuque, Iowa, follow I-294 past Chicago.  Exit I-294 at I-88 west (East-West Tollway).  Exit I-88 at I-74/80 west.  Follow I-74/80 west toward Bettendorf, Iowa and cross the Mississippi River.  Exit I-80 at U.S. Highway 61 north.  Take U.S. 61 into Dubuque, approximately 80 miles.  Exit U.S. 61 at Grandview and turn left on University Avenue to campus.  The soccer field is located in the University of Dubuque Park on south campus

 

Oct. 29 at Illinois Wesleyan:  To reach Illinois Wesleyan University in Bloomington, Ill., take I-55 south to Bloomington, Ill.  Exit on Business U.S.-51 south and go past Illinois State University.  Turn left on Emerson Street and cross westbound U.S.-51 to the Illinois Wesleyan campus.  The Neis Soccer Field is between football field and hospital.
