JoEllen Dickert, 1989-91

JoEllen Dickert, first-team All-CCIW in both 1989 and 1990.  Dickert is ranked fifth among Carthage's career leaders in earned run average (2.61) and seventh in innings pitched (340.6).  She threw a perfect game against North Park on April 24, 1990.  Dickert was inducted into the Carthage Athletic Hall of Fame in 2002.

 

Nancee Mayer, 1988, 1990-91

Nancee Mayer, first-team All-CCIW in 1988, 1990 and 1991 and National Softball Coaches Association NCAA Division III All-Midwest Regional in both 1988 and 1990.  Mayer is Carthage’s career leader in slugging percentage (.717) and runs scored (117).  She is second on the Lady Reds' career batting list with a .413 average, second in home runs (19), fourth in stolen bases (29), fifth in on-base percentage (.471), tied for fifth in RBI (91), ranked sixth in base hits (143), eighth in triples (8) and eighth in doubles (25).  She set a season record in 1991 with 45 runs scored (equaled by current Carthage coach Amy Gillmore in 1994).

 

Jennifer Sandahl, 1989-91

Jennifer Sandahl, first-team All-CCIW in both 1989 and 1990, as well as CCIW Northern Division "Softball Player of the Year" in 1990.  Sandahl set a Carthage season record in 1990 with 40 RBI.  She's ranked fifth on the Carthage career batting list (.378), sixth in slugging percentage (.534), sixth in on-base percentage (.464), seventh in RBI (89) and 10th in bases on balls (40).

 

Becky Whitehaus, 1988-91

Becky Whitehaus was a three-time All-CCIW honoree, second-team in 1988 and first-team in both 1989 and 1990 and was named National Softball Coaches Association NCAA Division III All-Midwest Regional in both 1989 and 1990.  Whitehaus is tied for second on the Carthage career RBI list (99), ranked second in triples (19), eighth in base hits (133), eighth in runs scored (83), eighth in on-base percentage (.412) and 10th in slugging percentage (.520). 

 

Christa Goetz, 1992-95

Christa Goetz, a three-time, first-team All-CCIW honoree (1993-95).  Goetz is fifth on the Carthage career list for complete games (50), seventh  in wins (30), seventh in strikeouts (162), eighth in innings pitched (320.6)  and ninth in earned run average (3.27).  She threw a perfect game to defeat North Park University, 11-0, on April 17, 1995.  Goetz was inducted into the Carthage Athletic Hall of Fame in 2000.

 

Jennie Smith, 1992-95

Third baseman Jennie Smith, Carthage's first four-time, first-team All-CCIW player (1992-95).  Smith is Carthage's career leader in batting average (.450), triples (20) and on-base percentage (.522).  She's second in slugging percentage (.688), tied for second in RBI (99), ranked third in bases on balls (54), fifth in base hits (147), fifth in doubles (29) and sixth in runs scored (87).  She set season records in 1993 for batting (.528), slugging percentage (.861) and on-base percentage (.573), and a season triples record in 1994 with eight.  Smith was inducted into the Carthage Athletic Hall of Fame in 2000.

 

Teri Green, 1997-2000

Teri Green, a three-time All-CCIW honoree, a 1999 National Fastpitch Coaches Association third-team all-regional pick.  Green is Carthage’s career leader in innings pitched (550.0) and complete games (78).  She’s ranked second in wins (48), second in shutouts (14), third in strikeouts (415) and fourth in earned run average (2.29).  Green was inducted into the Carthage Athletic Hall of Fame in 2009.

 

Amanda Rodriguez, 1998-2001

Third baseman Amanda Rodriguez, Carthage's second four-time All-CCIW honoree.  Rodriguez is Carthage’s career leader first in bases on balls (65).  She’s ranked second  in doubles (32), second in on-base percentage (.490), tied for second in RBI (99), ranked third in home runs (15), fourth in runs scored (88), fourth in slugging percentage (.536) and  fifth in base hits (141).  Rodriguez was inducted into the Carthage Athletic Hall of Fame in 2009.

 

Shannon Gysberg, 2001-04

Pitcher Shannon Gysberg was named first-team National Fastpitch Coaches Association NCAA Division III All-Great Lakes Regional in 2004, the 2003 CCIW “Pitcher of the Year,” first-team All-CCIW in both 2001 and 2003 and CCIW All-Academic in both 2002 and 2003.  Gysberg is Carthage’s career leader in earned run average (1.14), shutouts (23), no-hitters (7) and perfect games (3), while ranked second in strikeouts (632), fourth in wins (44), fourth in innings pitched (454.6) and fourth in complete games (54).  She set season records in 2004 with a 0.60 ERA, 208 strikeouts and eight shutouts.  Gysberg also set two game records for strikeouts with 18 in an 11-inning contest versus Millikin University on April 26, 2003, and 16 in a regulation, seven-inning game against the Milwaukee School of Engineering on March 29, 2003.

 

Amanda Leitzen, 2002-05

Amanda Leitzen, 2005 CCIW “Softball Player of the Year” and National Fastpitch Coaches Association first-team All-Great Lakes Regional.  Leitzen was also named NFCA third-team all-regional and second-team All-CCIW  in 2004 and first-team all-conference in 2002.  She is ranked second on the Carthage career list for base hits (156), third in triples (11), fifth in doubles (27), seventh in  batting average (.362), eighth in RBI (74), ninth in on-base percentage (.406), 10th in runs scored (72) and 10th in slugging percentage (.510).   In pitching, Leitzen is Carthage’s career leader in wins (50), while ranked third in earned run average (1.69), third in innings pitched (459.1), third in complete games (58), third in shutouts (13) and fifth in strikeouts (271).  In 2005, she set season records for base hits (60), doubles (14), wins (18) and innings pitched (156.0) and tied a season record with 22 complete games.

 

Gina Buchmiller, 2003-06

Gina Buchmiller was named All-CCIW three times, first-team in 2003 and 2005 and second-team all-conference in 2006.  Buchmiller is Carthage’s career leader in home runs (21) and RBI (100), while ranked third in career slugging percentage (.628), tied for fifth in bases on balls (50), ranked sixth in batting average (.366), seventh in doubles (26), seventh in on-base percentage (.448) and 10th in base hits (128).
