2007 Softball Travel Information

Spring Trip--March 10-17:  The team will leave campus on Saturday, March 11 and fly from O’Hare International Airport in Chicago via American Airlines flight #1208, leaving at 3:50 p.m., CST and arriving in Orlando, Fla., at 7:25 p.m., EST.  The team will stay at the Quality Suites Maingate East (5876 West Bronson Memorial Highway, 407-396-8040) in Kissimmee, Fla., on from March 11-18 and return to Chicago via American Airlines flight #1131, leaving Orlando at 1:51 p.m., EST and arriving in Chicago at 3:45 p.m., CST.  This year's "Rebel Games" will be played at the Osceola County Softball Complex on Bermuda Avenue in Orlando.  To reach the complex from the southbound Florida Turnpike, exit at U.S. Highways 17/92/441 south (Exit 254).  Go past Florida Highway 536 and go past Osceola Parkway.  Turn right at Florida Highway 192 and turn right again at Bermuda Ave.  The complex is on the left.  From the northbound Florida Turnpike, exit at Florida Highway 192 west (exit 242).  Go past U.S. Highways 17/92/441 and turn right on Bermuda Ave. 

 

March 27 at Lake Forest College:  To reach Lake Forest College in Lake Forest, Ill., follow U.S. Highway 41 south from Kenosha and turn left on Deerpath Road.  Follow Deerpath through the Lake Forest business district and across the railroad tracks.  Stay on Deerpath and at the next stop sign you’ll be facing the entrance to North Campus facing the entrance to the College's North Campus.  Turn right on Sheridan Road.  Go past the entrance for the middle campus and go past Rosemary Road on the right.  Turn right on Maplewood Road, and the Sports Center is on your left.  The Wasylik Soccer and Softball Fields are located behind the hockey rink. 

 

March 29 at the Milwaukee School of Engineering:  To reach the Milwaukee School of Engineering in Milwaukee, Wis., take I-94 north to Milwaukee, Wis.  Exit I-94 at I-794 east.  Exit I-794 at Jackson/Van Buren (Exit #1E).  Go north on Van Buren Street  seven blocks to State Street.  The MSOE Athletic Fields are at the corner of State and Milwaukee.

 

April 4 at Augustana College (Ill.):  The men’s and women’s teams, traveling together, will leave campus at Noon and return following the completion of the 7 p.m. men’s game.  To reach Augustana College in Rock Island, Ill., follow I-88 west from Chicago (I-88 becomes Illinois Highway 5 after once past I-80).  Follow Highway 5 until 38th Street in Rock Island (not 38th Street in Moline).  Follow 38th Street two miles, down a hill and turn left on 7th Avenue, then an immediate right into the football field parking lot.  The Augustana Softball Field is behind the Carver Physical Education Center.

 

April 11 at Clarke College:  Clarke College plays its home softball games at the Veterans Memorial Softball Complex in Dubuque, Iowa.  To reach that facility, take Wisconsin Highway 50 west from Kenosha to Lake Geneva.  In Lake Geneva, take U.S. Highway 12 to I-43 and follow I-43 into Beloit (I-43 becomes Milwaukee Road in Beloit).  Follow Wisconsin Highways 81/11 west to Monroe, Wis., where the two road split.  Stay on Highway 11 west toward Dubuque, Iowa.  Just east of the Mississippi River, Highway 11 ends at U.S. Highway 61.  Follow Highway 61 south across the river and into Dubuque.  Turn right at 32nd Street.  Go one mile and turn left at North Grandview Avenue.  Turn right at Kane Street and go two blocks.  Turn right at Northview Drive, go past an apartment complex and turn into the parking lot.

 

April 17 at Elmhurst College:  Elmhurst College plays its home softball games at Butterfield Park in Elmhurst, Ill.  To reach facility, follow I-294 around Chicago.  Exit I-294 I-88 west (East-West Tollway).  Take the first exit, which is the Oak Brook toll plaza.  Take a quick right to the Oak Brook Shopping Center (22nd Street).  Follow 22nd Street to York Road and go left on York.  Go past Butterfield and take the next right to Butterfield Park.

 

April 19 at Carroll (Wis.):  To reach Carroll College (Wis.) in Waukesha, Wis., take I-94 west through Milwaukee.  Exit at Wisconsin Highway 164, which will become E. North Street) in Waukesha.  Follow North Street for three traffic lights and turn left at Barstow.  Follow Barstow for about 12 blocks, and Van Male Field, Carroll's football and soccer field will be on the right.  Alternatively, exit I-94 at U.S. Highway 18 (East Moreland Blvd.).  Follow Moreland, and where the road splits, follow the left fork (East Main Street).  Turn left on North East Avenue and right on College Street.  Kilgour Field is on the corner of College Street and Grand Avenue.

 

April 24 at North Central College:  To reach North Central College in Naperville, Ill., follow I-294 south to I-88 (East-West Tollway).  Go west on I-88 and exit at Naperville Road.  Turn right (south) at the bottom of the ramp and follow Naperville Road several miles south.  Turn right at Chicago Avenue and continue for several miles.  Turn left on Brainard and follow the road to the right to North Central College’s athletic complex.  The Shanower Family Softball Field is behind Gregory Arena, adjacent to the baseball field.

 

May 1 at Trinity International (Ill.):  To reach Trinity International University (Ill.) in Deerfield, Ill., follow I-94 south into Illinois.  Exit I-94 at Illinois Route 22 (Half Day Road) and turn left (east).  The campus and the Meyer Sports Complex is on Half Day Road, about a quarter-mile from I-94 on the right.
