Sept. 2 vs. Wisconsin-Whitewater/Illinois Wesleyan at Illinois Wesleyan: The team will leave campus at 6:45 a.m. and return following the Noon Illinois Wesleyan match. To reach Illinois Wesleyan University, take I-55 south to Bloomington, Ill. Exit on Business U.S. 51 south and go past Illinois State University. Turn left on Emerson Street and cross westbound U.S. 51 to Illinois Wesleyan campus. The Beadles-Morse Tennis Courts are on the left, behind the Shirk Athletic Center.
Sept. 8 at Concordia (Wis.): The team will leave campus at 1:15 p.m. and return following the match. To reach Concordia University (Wis.) in Mequon, Wis., follow I-94 north to downtown Milwaukee. At the I-94/I-794 junction, continue north on I-43 towards Green Bay, Wis. Exit at Wisconsin Highway 167 east (about 20 miles north of downtown Milwaukee). Turn right off the ramp. Just past the railroad tracks, turn left at Lakeshore Drive North. Follow Lakeshore Drive about two miles to the campus. After you enter campus, stay to the left and go through a building overpass to reach the athletic complex.
Sept. 12-13 at Wheaton (Ill.) and Millikin: The team will leave campus on Sept. 12 at 7:30 a.m., stay overnight at the Comfort Inn in Forsyth, Ill. (134 Barnett Avenue, 217-875-1166) and return on Sept. 13 following the Millikin University match. To reach Wheaton College (Ill.) in Wheaton, Ill., follow I-294 to I-88 (East-West Tollway). Exit at Naperville Road and turn left at the bottom of the ramp. Follow Naperville Road north for approximately six miles to Roosevelt Road and turn right. Turn left at the President Street traffic light. Cross the railroad tracks and go past College Avenue. Turn left at University Street, which dead-ends at Chase Street, just north of the student center. Turn right at Chase to reach the Sports and Recreation Complex parking lots and the tennis courts. Millikin plays its home tennis schedule at the Fairview Park Tennis Complex in Decatur, Ill. To reach that facility, follow I-294 around Chicago. Exit I-294 at I-55 south to Bloomington. Exit I-74 east in Bloomington and go to U.S. Highway 51 south to Decatur. Follow Business U.S. 51 to downtown Decatur and turn right on El Dorado Street (U.S. Highway 36). Where the road splits at the bowling alley, stay right on U.S. 36 (now Fairview Street). Take the first left, at McClellan Street, and go into Fairview Park.
Sept. 19-20 at Luther and Coe: The team will leave campus on Sept. 19 at 7 a.m., play the University of Dubuque and Luther College in Decorah, Iowa, stay overnight at the Heartland Inn in Cedar Rapids, Iowa (3315 Southgate Court, 319-362-9012) and return on Sept. 20 following the Coe College match. To reach Luther College in Decorah, follow I-94 north to Milwaukee and west to Madison, Wis. Exit I-94 at I-90 south. Exit I-90 at U.S. Highways 12/18/151 west. Follow U.S. 18/151 west from Madison to Prairie du Chien, Wis. Cross the Mississippi River and follow U.S. 18/52 west. Continue to follow U.S. 52 after it splits with U.S. 18 about 25 miles west of the river. Follow U.S. 52 to Iowa Highway 9 east in Decorah. Follow Iowa 9 to Montgomery Street and turn left. At the first stop light, turn right. Turn right at the first stop sign. Turn right at College Drive (the first stop light) and go past the pool. The entrance to Luther College is on the left. Go down the hill to the athletic complex and tennis courts. To reach Coe College from Luther, return to U.S. 52 south. Follow U.S. 52 for nine mile to Calmar, Iowa, and take Iowa Highway 24 west for 26 miles to U.S. Highway 63 south. Follow U.S. 63 for 49 miles into Waterloo, Iowa. In Waterloo, follow the signs for U.S. Highway 20 east or I-380 east to Cedar Rapids, Iowa. In Cedar Rapids, exit I-380 at Iowa Highway 100 east in Cedar Rapids. Turn right at First Avenue, NE. Turn right again at College Drive. Coe College’s Clark Racquet Center, including the outdoor courts, is located at College Drive and C Avenue.
Sept. 25-27 at the ITA Midwest Regional Tournament: The 2009 ITA Central Regional Tournament will be played at Gustavus Adolphus College in St. Peter, Minn. The team will leave campus on Sept. 24 at 1 p.m., stay overnight on Sept. 24-26 at the Fairfield Inn in Mankato, Minn. (141 Apache Place, 507-386-1229), and return on either Sept. 26 or Sept. 27, when team has concluded play in the tournament. To reach Gustavus Adolphus, take I-94 north to Milwaukee, Wis. Exit I-94 at I-894 west around downtown Milwaukee and follow I-94 west toward Madison, Wis. At Madison, follow I-90/04 west. Just east of Tomah, Wis., the interstate splits. Follow I-90 west toward La Crosse. Stay on I-90 west into Minnesota and go past Rochester, Austin and Albert Lea, Minn. Forty miles west of Albert Lea, exit I-90 at U.S. Highway 169 north toward Mankato. Follow U.S. 169 north past Mankato 11 miles to St. Peter. Follow U.S. 169 into St. Peter, where it becomes Freeman Drive and then South Minnesota Avenue. Turn left at College Avenue, and Gibbs Tennis Courts are located on the right, at the top of the hill. Turn left at the top of the hill for parking, which is on the right. Driving time between Kenosha and St. Peter is approximately seven hours.
Sept. 30 vs. North Central at Ranchview Park: North Central’s tennis courts are under reconstruction in 2009, and this year’s team will play its home matches at Ranchview Park in Naperville, Ill. To reach that facility, follow I-294 south to I-88 (East-West Tollway). Go west on I-88 and exit at I-355 south. Exit I-355 at 63rd Street toward Hobson Road. Follow Hobson Road for three miles and turn left at Wehrli Road. Follow Wehrli Road for one mile and turn left at Auburn Avenue. Take the first left onto Kenyon Drive and the first right onto Clarkson Court. The team will leave campus at 1:15 p.m. and return following the match.
Oct. 9-10 at the CCIW Women's Tennis Championship: The CCIW Women’s Tennis Championship will be played at the Evergreen Racquet Club in Bloomington. The team will leave campus on Oct. 8 at 1 p.m., stay overnight on Oct. 8-9 at the Double Tree Inn in Bloomington (10 Brickyard Drive, 309-664-6446) and return on Oct. 10 following completion of the championship. To reach the Evergreen Racquet Club, follow I-294 around Chicago, Ill. Exit I-294 at I-55 south Bloomington. Exit I-55 at Veterans Parkway. Turn left at Washington Street, which dead ends in the parking lot of the Evergreen Racquet Club.
Feb. 19-20 at Hope: To reach the Hope College DeWitt Tennis Center in Holland, Mich., follow I-294 around Chicago. Exit I-294 at I-80/94 east. Exit I-80/94 at I-94 east into Michigan. Exit I-94 at I-196 to Holland, Mich. At the U.S. 31 and I-196 business exit, keep to the left for Washington Avenue, which becomes Michigan Avenue and then becomes River Avenue. Proceed to 10th Street and turn right. Turn right at Columbia Avenue, and the DeWitt Tennis Center will be on the right.
