Travel Plans
Sept. 8 at Wheaton (Ill.): To reach Wheaton College (Ill.) in Wheaton, Ill., follow I-294 to I-88 (East-West Tollway). Exit at Naperville Road and turn left at the bottom of the ramp. Follow Naperville Road north for approximately six miles to Roosevelt Road and turn right. Turn left at the President Street traffic light. Cross the railroad tracks and go past College Avenue. Turn left at University Street, which dead-ends at Chase Street, just north of the student center. Turn right at Chase to reach the Sports and Recreation Complex parking lots and the tennis courts.
Sept. 9 at Millikin: Millikin University plays its home tennis schedule at the Fairview Park Tennis Complex in Decatur, Ill. To reach that facility, follow I-294 around Chicago. Exit I-294 at I-55 south to Bloomington. Exit I-74 east in Bloomington and go to U.S. Highway 51 south to Decatur. Follow Business U.S. 51 to downtown Decatur and turn right on El Dorado Street (U.S. Highway 36). Where the road splits at the bowling alley, stay right on U.S. 36 (now Fairview Street). Take the first left, at McClellan Street, and go into Fairview Park.
Sept. 12 at North Central: To reach North Central College in Naperville, Ill., follow I-294 south to I-88 (East-West Tollway). Go west on I-88 and exit at Naperville Road. Turn right (south) at the bottom of the ramp and follow Naperville Road several miles south. Turn right at Chicago Avenue and continue for several miles. Turn left on Brainard and follow the road to the right to North Central College’s athletic complex and the tennis courts.
September 15 at Coe and Cornell: To reach Coe College in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, follow I-294 around Chicago. Exit I-294 at I-88 west. Exit I-88 at I-80 west just east of Moline, Ill., and follow I-80 over the Mississippi River. Continue on I-80 past Iowa City, Iowa, and exit I-80 at I-380 north. Follow I-380 approximately 16 miles into Cedar Rapids. Exit I-380 at Iowa Highway 100 east in Cedar Rapids. Turn right at First Avenue, NE. Turn right again at College Drive. The Clark Racquet Center, including the outdoor courts, is located at College Drive and C Avenue. To reach Cornell College in Mt. Vernon, Iowa, from Cedar Rapids, return to I-380 south and follow through town. Exit I-380 at U.S. Highways 151/30 east to Mt. Vernon. Exit 151/30 at Iowa Highway 1 north into Mt. Vernon. Cornell College is on the northwest side of Mt. Vernon. The indoor tennis facility is located inside of the Small Life Sports Center, the college fieldhouse, just east of the football field
Sept. 21-23 at the ITA Midwest Regional Tournament: The 2007 ITA Central Regional Tournament will be played at Gustavus Adolphus College in St. Peter, Minn. To reach Gustavus Adolphus, take I-94 north to Milwaukee, Wis. Exit I-94 at I-894 west around downtown Milwaukee and follow I-94 west toward Madison, Wis. At Madison, follow I-90/04 west. Just east of Tomah, Wis., the interstate splits. Follow I-90 west toward La Crosse. Stay on I-90 west into Minnesota and go past Rochester, Austin and Albert Lea, Minn. Forty miles west of Albert Lea, exit I-90 at U.S. Highway 169 north toward Mankato. Follow U.S. 169 north past Mankato 11 miles to St. Peter. Follow U.S. 169 into St. Peter, where it becomes Freeman Drive and then South Minnesota Avenue. Turn left at College Avenue, and Gibbs Tennis Courts are located on the right, at the top of the hill. Turn left at the top of the hill for parking, which is on the right. Driving time between Kenosha and St. Peter is approximately seven hours.
Oct. 5-6 at the CCIW
Women's Tennis Championship: The CCIW Women’s Tennis Championship
will be played at the Evergreen Racquet
Club in Bloomington. to reach that
facility, follow I-294 around Chicago, Ill. Exit I-294 at I-55 south Bloomington. Exit I-55 at Veterans
Parkway. Turn left at Washington
Street, which dead ends in the parking lot of the Evergreen Racquet Club.
March 14-20 in Orlando, Fla.: The team will fly from Chicago’s O’Hare International Airport to Orlando, Fla., on March 10, via American Airlines, leaving Chicago at 10:45 a.m., CST and arriving in Orlando at 2:20 p.m., EST.
The team will stay at the Marriott Residence Inn in Altamonte Springs, Fla. (270 Douglas Ave., 404-788-7991) and return home on March 17, leaving Orlando at 7:40 p.m., EST and arriving in Chicago at 9:35 p.m., CST.
April 5-6 at the ITA Central Regional Tournament: The
team will leave on April 4 at 4 p.m., stay overnight at the Comfort Inn &
Suites in Madison, Wis. (4822 E. Washington Ave., 608-244-6265) and return on
April 6 following the conclusion of the tournament at Wisconsin-Madison.
April 19 at Wisconsin-Whitewater: To reach the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater, take Wisconsin Highway 20 west of Racine. Go past I-43 and East Troy, where Highway 20 joins with U.S. Highway 12. Follow U.S. 12 into Whitewater and go through downtown. Turn right on North Prairie Street. Turn left on Stadium Drive to reach the athletics complex and the Williams Athletic Center. The tennis courts are just south of the Williams Center.
April 25-26 at the
CCIW Women's Tennis Team Automatic Qualifier Tournament: Millikin
University will play host to the CCIW Women’s Tennis Automatic Qualifier
