2007 Carthage Women’s Volleyball Travel Plans

Aug. 31-Sept. 1 at the Elmhurst Tournament: The team will leave campus on Friday, Aug. 31 at 12:30 p.m., stay overnight at the Springhill Suites by Marriott in Elmhurst, Ill. (410 W. Lake Street, 630-782-6300) and return on Saturday, Sept. 1 following the completion of the tournament. To reach Elmhurst College in Elmhurst, Ill., follow I-294 south. Exit I-294 at I-290 west and exit immediately at North Avenue (Illinois Highway 64). Follow North Avenue into Elmhurst and go past York Road. After York road, take the third left (Maple Avenue). Follow southbound Maple Avenue across the railroad tracks and turn right at the first street (Walter Street). The Elmhurst College Physical Education Center faces Walter Street on the right.

Sept. 7-8 at the Mount St. Joseph Tournament: The team will leave campus on Thursday, Sept. 6 at 5:30 p.m., stay overnight on Thursday-Friday at the Ramada Inn-Downtown in Cincinnati, Ohio (800 W. 8th Street, 513-241-8660) and return on Saturday night, Sept. 8 following completion of the tournament.

Sept. 14-15 at the Wisconsin-La Crosse Tournament: Wisconsin-La Crosse: The team will leave campus on Friday, Sept. 14 at 10 a.m., and stay overnight at the Comfort Inn in Onalaska, Wis. (1223 Crossing Meadows Drive, 608-781-7500) and return to campus on Saturday, Sept. 15 following completion of the tournament. To reach Wisconsin-La Crosse, take I-94 north to Milwaukee, Wis. Exit I-94 at I-894 west around downtown Milwaukee and follow I-94 west toward Madison, Wis. At Madison, follow I-90/04 west. Just east of Tomah, Wis., the interstate splits. Follow I-90 west toward La Crosse. Exit I-90 at U.S. Highway 53 (Exit 3, Rose Street) Follow Rose Street, which will become Copeland Avenue and then N. 4th Avenue as you approach downtown La Crosse for three and one-half miles. Turn left on State Street and follow for about one mile. The campus is on the left, and the athletic complex is also on the left, just where State Street and Campbell Road meet (Campbell veers off to the left by the athletic center parking lot).

Sept. 21-22 at the Wheaton (lll.) Tournament: The team will leave campus on Friday, Sept. 21 at Noon, stay overnight at the Hyatt Hotel in Lisle, Ill. (1400 Corporetum Drive, 630-852-1234) and return on Saturday, Sept. 22 following completion of the tournament. To reach Wheaton College (Ill.) in Wheaton, Ill., follow I-294 to I-88 (East-West Tollway). Exit at Naperville Road and turn left at the bottom of the ramp. Follow Naperville Road north for approximately six miles to Roosevelt Road and turn right. Turn left at the President Street traffic light. Cross the railroad tracks and go past College Avenue. Turn left at University Street, which dead-ends at Chase Street, just north of the student center. Turn right at Chase to reach the Sports and Recreation Complex parking lots.

Oct. 2 at North Central: The team will leave campus at 2 p.m. and return following the match. To reach North Central College in Naperville, Ill., follow I-294 south to I-88 (East-West Tollway). Go west on I-88 and exit at Naperville Road. Turn right (south) at the bottom of the ramp and follow Naperville Road several miles south. Turn right at Chicago Avenue and continue for several miles. Turn left on Brainard and follow the road to the right to North Central College’s athletic complex and Gregory Arena.

Oct. 9 at North Park: The team will leave campus at 2:30 p.m. and return following the match. To reach North Park University in Chicago, Ill., follow I-94 toward Chicago. Exit at Cicero Avenue and turn left at the first light (Foster Avenue). Follow Foster Avenue about two miles to reach the campus and the North Park Gymnasium, which are at the corner of Foster and Kedzie Avenue.

Oct. 12-13 at the Wisconsin-Oshkosh Tournament: The team will leave campus on Friday, Oct. 12 at Noon, stay overnight at the Park Plaza Hotel in Oshkosh, Wis. (One North Main Street, 920-231-5000) and return on Saturday, Oct. 13 following completion of the tournament. To reach the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh in Oshkosh, Wis., take I-94 north to Milwaukee. Exit I-94 at I-894 around the city, and exit I-894 at U.S. 41 north to Oshkosh. Exit at Wisconsin Highway 21 and go east. Go past Algoma Road and follow signs, off to the right, for Wisconsin-Oshkosh. The Kolf Sports Center is on the right.

Oct. 16 at Elmhurst: The team will leave campus at 2 p.m. and return following the match. To reach Elmhurst College in Elmhurst, Ill., follow I-294 south. Exit I-294 at I-290 west and exit immediately at North Avenue (Illinois Highway 64). Follow North Avenue into Elmhurst and go past York Road. After York road, take the third left (Maple Avenue). Follow southbound Maple Avenue across the railroad tracks and turn right at the first street (Walter Street). R.A. Faganel Hall faces Walter Street on the right.

Oct. 19 at Augustana (Ill.): The team will leave campus at 11 a.m. and return following the match. To reach Augustana College in Rock Island, Ill., follow I-88 west from Chicago (I-88 becomes Illinois Highway 5 after once past I-80). Follow Highway 5 until 38th Street in Rock Island (not 38th Street in Moline). Follow 38th Street two miles, down a hill and turn left on 7th Avenue, then an immediate right into the football field parking lot and the Carver Physical Education Center.

Oct. 26-27 at the Wittenberg Tournament: The team will leave campus on Thursday, Oct. 25 at 4:30 p.m., stay overnight on Thursday-Friday at the Fairfield Inn in Springfield, Ohio (937-323-9554) and return on Saturday, Oct. 27 following completion of the tournament. To reach Wittenberg University in Springfield, Ohio, follow I-94 through Chicago. Exit I-94 at the Indiana Skyway (I-90 east). Stay on I-80/90 east (Indiana Toll Road) and exit at I-65 south toward Indianapolis, Ind. Exit I-65 at I-465 east around the city. Exit I-465 at I-70 east toward Columbus, Ohio. Go past the exits for Dayton, Ohio and exit I-70 at Ohio Route 68 north toward Urbana, Ohio. Turn right onto Ohio Route 41. Go past a Fairfield Inn hotel and a Meijer Superstore. When the road dead ends, turn right onto St. Paris Pike, which becomes McCreight Avenue. Turn right at Lowry Avenue, and turn left at Bill Edwards Drive to the reach the HPER Center.
