Carthage Women’s Cross Country Travel Plans
Aug. 31 at the Elmhurst Invitational: The Elmhurst College Invitational will be run at Eldridge Park in Elmhurst, Ill. To reach that site, follow I-294 south. Exit I-294 at I-290 west and exit immediately at North Avenue (Illinois Highway 64). Follow North Avenue into Elmhurst Turn left at York Road and follow to Butterfield Road. Turn right on Butterfield Road to Spring Avenue (second stop light) and turn right. Turn left at either of the next two streets, Clayton or Harrison. Both Clayton and Harrison lead into Eldridge Park.
Sept. 7 at the
Bradley Invitational: The
Bradley University Invitational will be run at Detweiller Park in Peoria,
Ill. To reach that facility, follow
I-294 around Chicago. Exit I-294 at
I-55 south. Exit I-55 at I-74 west to
Peoria. Exit I-74 at Adams Street,
which is the first exit across the bridge over the Illinois River. Follow Adams Street (Illinois Highway 29)
about 10 miles to reach the park.
Sept. 14 at the Aurora “Spartan Classic”: The Aurora University “Spartan Classic” will be run at the Oakhurst Forest Preserve in Aurora, Ill. To reach that site, follow I-294 around Chicago, Ill., and exit at I-88 west (East-West Tollway). Exit I-88 at Farnsworth Road south, and the entrance to the preserve will be on the left.
Sept. 29 at the
University of Minnesota “Roy Griak Invitational”: The University of Minnesota “Roy Griak Invitational” will be run
at the Les Bolstad Golf Course in Falcon Heights, Minn. To reach that facility, take I-94 north to Milwaukee, Wis. Exit I-94 at I-894 west around
Milwaukee. Exit I-894 at I-94
west. Follow I-94 past Eau Claire,
Wis., to Minneapolis, Minn. Exit I-94
at Minnesota Highway 280 north. Exit
Highway 280 at Larpenteur Avenue and turn right. The golf course is at 2275 Larpenteur Avenue.
Oct. 6 at the Carthage Invitational: The Carthage Invitational will be run at the Wisconsin-Parkside course in Kenosha, Wis. From Carthage, take Wisconsin Highway 32 north to County Road E and turn left. Go past County Roads Y and G and turn right at County Road JR. The course is on the left and parking is available on the right.
Oct. 13 at
the Wisconsin Private College Championship: Concordia University
(Wis.) will play host to the 2007 Wisconsin Private College on its campus in
Mequon, Wis. To reach that location, follow
I-94 north to downtown Milwaukee. At
the I-94/I-794 junction, continue north on I-43 towards Green Bay, Wis. Exit at
Wisconsin Highway 167 east (about 20 miles north of downtown Milwaukee). Turn right off the ramp. Just past the railroad tracks, turn left at
Lakeshore Drive North. Follow Lakeshore
Drive about two miles to the campus.
Oct. 27 at the CCIW Cross Country Championship: Illinois Wesleyan University will play host to the 2007 CCIW Cross Country Championship at Maxwell Park Golf Course in Bloomington, Ill. To reach that facility, follow I-55 south from Chicago to Bloomington, Ill. Exit I-55 at Business U.S.-51 south. Turn right on Gregory Street, and the course is on the corner of Gregory and North Parkside Road.
Nov. 10 at the NCAA Division III Midwest Regional Cross Country Championship: Wisconsin-Oshkosh will play host to the 2007 NCAA Division III Midwest Regional Championship at the Lake Breeze Golf Course in Winneconne, Wis. To reach that site, take I-94 north to Milwaukee. Exit I-94 at I-894 around the city, and exit I-894 at U.S. 41 north to Oshkosh. Exit U.S. 41 at Wisconsin Highway 110 north in Oshkosh. Follow Highway 110 about 10 miles until it intersects Wisconsin Highway 116. The Lake Breeze Golf Course is just past that intersection at 6333 State Road 110.
Nov. 17 at the NCAA Division III Cross
Country Championship: St. Olaf College will play host to the 2007
NCAA Division III Cross Country Championship at the Skoglund Athletic
Fields on campus in Northfield, Minn. To reach St. Olaf, take I-94 north to
Milwaukee, Wis. Exit I-94 at I-894
around downtown. Follow I-94 west to
Madison, Wis., and follow I-90/94 north of Madison. Where I-90 and I-94 split, near Tomah, Wis., follow I-90 west to
LaCrosse, Wis. Continue on I-90 to
Rochester, Minn., and exit at U.S. Highway 52 north. Stay on U.S. 52 north toward Zumbrota, Minn. Twenty miles north of Zumbrota, go left on Minnesota State Road 19 west toward
Northfield, Minn. Follow Minnesota 19
for 14 miles to reach Northfield.
Minnesota 19 becomes 330th Street east of Northfield.. Stay on 330th Street and go past Carleton
Street, where 330th Street turns south and becomes Division Street. Turn right on Second Street, which is the
first major street past Carleton College.
Turn right on Water Street and follow for two blocks. Turn left on St. Olaf Avenue, which runs
directly into campus in about 10 blocks.
Go past Manitou Field, the football stadium until you reach the Skoglund
Athletic Center.
