

David M. Brunn has three decades of experience at Arthur Andersen & Co. He was a partner with Andersen Consulting, where he developed financial and manufacturing systems for clients of all sizes. He was the global head of Andersen Consulting's Cost Management practice for several years. He is a CPA, a CMA, and a Certified Practitioner in Inventory Management. During his last five years with the firm, he managed several of the largest projects for the firm's Tax Technology Group.
He has a current association as an adjunct professor at the Lake Forest Graduate School of Management, where he taught both financial accounting and corporate finance.
Prof. Brunn joined the Carthage faculty in 1993. He is currently the Rogers Palmer Distinguished Professor of Business Administration. In 1999 he was selected the College's Distinguished Teacher of the Year.
Cathy Duffy has a bachelor of science degree in accounting from the University of Southern California and a master of science in taxation from DePaul University. Before coming to Carthage, she was a corporate tax consultant at Arthur Andersen, a senior tax accountant for Amoco Corporation, an accounting instructor at Robert Morris College, and most recently, a consultant for Jefferson Wells. She currently lives in Racine, Wis., with her husband, Michael, and their four children, Michael, Amelia, Nicola and Alexandra.

Tony Fredericks joined the Carthage faculty in the fall of 2005. He has a BSEE from Pratt Institute; a M.S. in Computer Science from the University of Massachusetts; master's degrees in Business Administration, Project Management and Telecommunications Management from the Keller Graduate School of Management; and an M.S. in Computing from Marquette University. He is currently working on a J.D. at Marquette University. Prof. Fredericks has previously held faculty positions at ITT Technical Institute, Robert Morris College, Columbia College and the University of Phoenix. He has more than 14 years of industry experience working as a Software Development Engineer and Manager for several major corporations such as Textron Defense Systems, IDEX and Motorola.

Thomas Groleau began his career teaching high school mathematics and working in the utility industry. After returning to school to earn his M.S.O.R. and Ph.D., he taught courses in information systems, operations and quantitative methods at a variety of institutions before settling at Carthage in 1999. He is a member of the Institute for Operations Research and the Management Sciences (INFORMS), the Decision Sciences Institute (DSI), and the Christian Business Faculty Association (CBFA).

Mark Miller has three decades of experience at CNH (Case Corp.). At CNH, he was a senior director of global purchasing, where he managed supply chain management and inventory management departments. He is certified as a C.P.M. by Institute of Supply Chain Management and C.I.R.M. by the American Production Control Society. Mr. Miller lives with his wife, Betsy, in Racine, Wis. He and his wife have two grown daughters and two grandsons. He enjoys golf and most sports. He joined the Carthage faculty in 2004.
Colleen O’Brien, comes to Carthage after a 22-year career in corporate finance with SC Johnson Wax, and IIT Research Institute in Chicago. She is a Wisconsin native who is a summa cum laude 1986 graduate of St. Norbert College, with a degree in finance and economics. She earned her M.B.A. with concentrations in finance and marketing from the University of Chicago.

Jan Owens joined Carthage in 2006.

Michael Phegley joined the Carthage faculty in 2004 after serving as an adjunct professor at Carthage and the University of Wisconsin-Parkside. Mr. Phegley is an attorney with Phegley, Laufenberg & Jensen, a practice that concentrates on family, criminal, labor and employment law, as well as alternative dispute resolution. He also serves as a Judicial Court Commissioner for Racine County, presiding over hearings involving juvenile, criminal, traffic, probate and civil law matters. He is a certified mediator and previously served on the Alternative Dispute Resolution Committee for the State Bar of Wisconsin.
Mr. Phegley is the faculty advisor for the Carthage Mock Trial Team and the Phi Alpha Delta Pre-Law Fraternity. He teaches Legal Environment of Business, Business Law for Accountants and Mock Trial.
Mr. Phegley is a member of the State Bar of Wisconsin and a member and past president of the Racine County Bar Association. He is the president of the board of directors for the University of Wisconsin-Parkside Alumni Association and the vice-chair of the board of directors for St. Catherine's High School in Racine, Wis., in addition to his involvement with other community service organizations.

David K. Schlichting came to Carthage in 1997 from Marquette University. He currently teaches the taxation sections in the CPA Review-Milwaukee program. In addition to his teaching experience, he is a CPA and maintains a tax and accounting practice. He worked as a financial analyst and internal auditor for Wisconsin Electric Power Company.
Alexander Tiahnybok came to Carthage in 2007 as an adjunct faculty member. He has more than 20 years of experience in business, and owns a consulting firm that deals with chemical companies. He earned a B.S. in chemical engineering from Northwestern University in 1986, and an M.B.A. from DePaul University in 2003.

Joseph J. Shields, has worked for several major corporations, including Miller Brewing Co., ABB Robotics, and Snap-on Tool. He earned a B.A. in engineering from the University of Michigan in 1978, and an M.B.A. from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee in 1990.
