The Carthage Theatre Department presents "Lysistrata," the third and concluding play of Aristophanes' War and Peace series, directed by Herschel Kruger. It is now the 21st year of the Peloponnesian War, and there seems as little prospect of peace as ever. A desperate state of things demands a desperate remedy in this comical account of one woman's extraordinary mission to end the war. Lysistrata convinces the women of Greece to withhold sexual privileges from their husbands as a means of forcing the men to negotiate a peace.
