Living on campus provides some of the most memorable moments of your college experience. Carthage's residence halls offer an exciting environment for living and learning. Our halls provide easy access to educational programs, leadership opportunities, and a full calendar of social activities.

Community

At Carthage, we encourage you to become a member of our close-knit community. Each residence hall floor reflects the interests of the students who live there. You and your floor members will make decisions about everything, from study hours to intramurals. Participation in residence life is a vital part of your intellectual development. Consider it a live-in classroom, with highly trained staff for support and advice.

Campus Living Options

Carthage has 11 residence halls, nine of which are coed. Each hall comprises students from a variety of academic years, building a unique campus unity beyond class-year affiliations. Carthage's halls offer traditional single-gender floors as well as Greek interest floors. In addition, study-intensive wings provide an atmosphere conducive to academic study. Suite-style rooms, which consist of a living room, a bedroom and a bathroom, are located in most halls.


The Oaks Village

The Oaks Village is Carthage's newest housing option. Its five buildings offer students single and double rooms with two people per bathroom. Students live in a house concept with 16 students per floor sharing a large community space at the apex of each building. Read more. Take a virtual tour.


Madrigrano Family Residence Hall

Residents of Madrigrano Family Residence Hall (formerly South Hall) say that their hall identity centers on friendship and community. The hall's 320 residents establish close ties and are frequently active in athletics and campus organizations. Volleyball on the hall's terrace is a popular pastime. Four Greek organizations call Madrigrano home. Read more.


Johnson Hall

A welcoming community of approximately 330 residents "where everybody knows your name," Johnson Hall is home to five Greek organizations and two study-intensive wings. During the hall's annual "Haunted Hall" event, residents decorate their floor. Students tour the "creepy crypt" and cast their ballots. Read more.


Denhart Hall

Denhart Hall is home to approximately 330 residents and a healthy mix of first-year and upper-class students. The residents work hard to establish a personal touch of identity and personality in their new home away from home. Three Greek organizations call Denhart home.

Tarble Hall

Tarble Hall's open door policy gives this all-female residence hall a warm, friendly atmosphere. Tarble is home to the Sigma Alpha Chi and Pi Theta sororities, and two study-intensive wings. End-of-the-semester "stress-relieving" programs are a favorite, as is the annual Breast Cancer Awareness Week. Read more.


Swenson Hall

Carthage's smallest and only all-male hall consists of approximately 30 residents. Its size creates a close-knit community where students immediately feel at home. Half of the rooms are equipped with a private bathroom. It is also conveniently located near Lentz Hall and the David Straz Center. Read more.


The Best Western

Nestled on the harbor in downtown Kenosha, the Best Western residential option allows students flexibility and a more independent style of living. Approximately 90 students enjoy the comfort of air conditioning, private bathrooms, weekly housekeeping, and access to the pool and hot tub. Campus Apartments

On the north side of campus, across the street from the Smeds Tennis Center, is a two-story apartment building. Eight one-bedroom apartments with a living room, full kitchen and bathroom allow upper-class students to make the transition from residence hall to apartment-style living. Read more.
