Campus Life

Best Western

Nestled on the harbor in downtown Kenosha, the Best Western living option allows students flexibility and a more independent living style. Approximately 90 students enjoy the comfort of air conditioning, private bathrooms, housekeeping once a week, and access to the pool and hot tub. Structured similarly to a residence hall, the Best Western is staffed by two Resident Assistants and an Assistant Hall Director.

Less expensive than a traditional on-campus residence hall, the Best Western living option is designed to meet the needs of working students and student teachers.

Amenities

Best Western residents enjoy the comfort of air conditioning, private bathrooms, housekeeping once a week, and unlimited access to the pool and hot tub. With laundry facilities on site, students experience everything that a traditional residence hall offers and more. Unlike campus-situated residence halls, the Best Western does not close during the academic year. Students who have part-time jobs, student teaching, or other commitments can remain in housing during school break periods.

Additional Information

Meal Plan
The Best Western living option does not include a traditional campus meal plan. This is the only living option provided by Carthage where students have a choice of whether or not to purchase a meal plan. This is most advantageous for students with special dietary concerns, or for students who eat less than the meals afforded by the traditional meal plan. Most students purchase an optional meal plan that allows them to eat lunch and/or additional meals on campus. Students interested in purchasing a meal plan should contact the Business Office at (262) 551-6200.

Telephone Service
Local phone calls (not including Racine, Wis.) are free of charge. Long distance phone service is charged per call. Students often utilize calling cards and cell phones.
