Earning Academic Credit
To be eligible to receive credit for an internship,
students must:
- Be currently enrolled at Carthage;
- Have completed sophomore year;
- Have declared a major;
- Be in good standing with the College.
Students wishing to earn academic credit for an
internship must follow the guidelines outline in the
Internship Booklet.
In brief a student must.
- Obtain letter from site supervisor outlining your duties and
responsibilities and confirming your hours and start/end dates.
- Secure faculty sponsor to evaluate your internship
performance.
- Draft Learning Agreement with faculty sponsor and site
supervisor using guidelines provided in the Internship Booklet.
- Turn in proposal paperwork to Career Services Director.
Proposals will be reviewed by the Registrar, the Career Services
Director, and the Associate Dean of the College. Decisions are
usually made within a few days of receipt.
- Once approved, go to the Registrar's office and
finalize registration prior to drop/add deadline.
- Begin interning and complete the terms of your learning
agreement.
