Carthage chemistry courses describe the properties of atoms and molecules and their transformations in nature and in the laboratory. Approved by the American Chemical Society, Carthage's chemistry department prepares students for graduate study in chemistry, industrial chemistry, teaching, medical school, and engineering.

The Theta Chi Delta honorary
chemistry fraternity has been at Carthage since 1926. The organization
works to provide services for those students who are
studying in the field of chemistry. Activities include field trips,
participating in chemistry outreach programs at Carthage and local
schools, and selling items for use in the chemistry classes and labs.
