Why take Criminal Justice at Carthage?

THE CARTHAGE ADVANTAGE
Carthage's criminal justice major is designed for students who are planning a career in criminal justice areas such as law and judicially-related fields, law enforcement and administration, probation and parole, criminology, adult and juvenile corrections, urban planning and affairs, etc.

The foundation of Carthage's criminal justice major is a broadly based in the humanities and social sciences. The theory behind it's interdisciplinary nature has been strongly supported in the report of the President's Commission on Law Enforcement and Administration of Justice, which suggests that criminal justice personnel are not well equipped for their work if they do not fully appreciate the legal issues involved in their everyday activity, the nature of the social problems they constantly encounter, and the psychology of those people whose attitude toward law differs from their own.

The criminal justice major at Carthage has been recommended by the American Bar Association to other colleges and universities as a model for the establishment of criminal justice major programs.
