What Can I Do With A Major In...?
| |
|
Choosing a major is a decision that should take healthy amounts of personal reflection, research, and time. Contrary to popular belief, most career fields do not require a specific major, and people with specific majors do not always use them in ways most commonly expected. A liberal arts education provides a foundation of knowledge bases, skills, and abilities applicable to a number of career fields. Your choice of major should be based on a combination of your future career objectives, interests, and talents. If you need assistance choosing a major, please speak with your advisor or a career counselor. You can find resources to assist you in assessing your skills and interests here. Descriptions of each program and relevant coursework are based on information found in the Carthage 2004-2007 College Catalog. For additional information about specific courses of study, please speak with your advisor. Outlook information is based on the current projections made in the U.S. Department of Labor's Occupation Outlook Handbook 2006-2007 on-line edition. Salary information is compiled from numerous sources most notably the National Association of Colleges and Employers Quarterly Salary Survey (available in Career Services) and www.salary.com. |
