Dr. Sara Joan Miles spent over thirty years as a professor and university administrator. She held faculty positions at Wheaton College (IL) and Eastern University. Her educational background includes studies in biology and chemistry (B.A., Ball State University; M.S., University of Illinois), religion (M.R.E., Texas Christian University), anthropology (Hartford Seminary), French and African Studies (Diplôme, École d’Administration in Brussels, Belgium), and history of science (Ph.D., University of Chicago).

She currently serves as the History of Science Society’s delegate to the Council of the American Association for the Advancement of Science and is a member of the Advisory Council for the American Scientific Association. She has published several articles addressing the reception of Darwin and the interplay between science and Christian thought.
