Student Organizations

Carthage has more than 85 student groups and organizations through which students can get involved, explore possible careers, meet other students, work closely with faculty advisors, and perform community service. See a full list of Carthage student organizations.

Chemistry Club (Student Affiliates of the American Chemical Society)
Carthage has been a member of the American Chemical Society since 1978. Student members meet biweekly, attend social events, sponsor activities to celebrate National Chemistry Week, and host demonstrations and outreach activities students at local schools. The chapter has been recognized by the ACS with Honorable Mention Chapter Awards (1997-99, 2009-2010) and Commendable Chapter Awards (2000-01).

Theta Chi Delta
The Theta Chi Delta Honorary Chemistry Fraternity was established at Carthage in March 1926. This group works to provide services for those students who are studying in the field of chemistry. Members must have a 3.0 grade point average over three semesters of chemistry.

Pre-Health Club
Pre-Health Club is for students who want to pursue a career in the health field. This includes students who are pre-medicine, pre-veterinary, pre-pharmacy, pre-occupational therapy and pre-dental. Members serve others in the community, gather for MCAT study sessions, job-shadow physicians, and do other activities that will help set students apart when it comes to applying for higher education.
