Volunteer and Donation Opportunities

In order to continue offering programs, workshops and special events, we rely on the time and talent of our volunteers. In addition, we welcome the donation of books, artwork and equipment that continue to provide resources to those visiting the Center.

Some examples of the gracious donations we have received include original artwork donated by Pat VanAlyea of the Book Bay. An oil painting from an illustration in a children's book by Don Wood is now on display in the Center. A grant from Harcourt Publishers was used to make poster reproductions of Don Wood's artwork, which we will in turn use to generate additional funds for the Center.

An ink drawing by Rosemary Wells for her book Adbul was also donated for display in the Center. Patricia Lyons donated the funds for the security cases for our artwork.

Volunteers play an important role in ensuring that the Center can continue to provide its resources and programs to students, children, parents and the community. Milwaukee Public School teacher Nancy Hill, has donated many hours to help catalog many new books. Helping with our public events is Joan Miltz.
