Visiting Authors

The Center for Children’s Literature at Carthage hosts many special events during the year, including workshops, reading programs, and lectures and seminars by noted authors and illustrators.

Children's author Robert Burleigh signs copies of his books at a Center for Children's Literature event. Mr. Burleigh is the author of more than 30 picture books, as well as poems, essays, many filmstrips and videos.

For a month in autumn 2005, visitors to Carthage's H.F. Johnson Art Gallery were able to view original art work by 12 different artists for books by Kenosha author Florence Parry Heide. The event was cosponsored by the Center for Children's Literature and the College's Art Department.
