Courses in Ancient Greek
At Carthage, students majoring in classics must take two terms of Greek or Latin; students minoring in classics must complete one term. Carthage offers courses that introduce students to classical (ancient) Greek, as well as upper-level courses in which students read prose and poetry in ancient Greek.
Latin Courses
At Carthage, students majoring in classics must take two terms of Greek
or Latin; students minoring in classics must complete one term. In introductory Latin courses, students read simple passages in Latin and master grammar. In upper-level course, students read Latin prose and poetry, including Virgil, Horace, Ovid, Cicero, Tacitus, and more.
