Distinguished Visitors

The Clausen Center has become increasingly active in sponsoring visitors on our own, and in collaboration with other institutes and programs at Carthage, especially in connection with campus-wide speakers. Sustained emphasis is being given by the Center to local and state, as well as national and foreign, government professionals. Visitors have included:

Students have also had the opportunity to meet with retired executives from Mobil Oil and Snap-on Inc., and members of the Wisconsin legislature.

Executives in Residence

The Chapman Executive-in-Residence program brings prominent business leaders to campus to speak to students and the public. The program is endowed by Carthage Trustee Steven M. Chapman, Group Vice President — Emerging Markets and Businesses, Cummins Inc., who also served as the initial visiting executive. In April 2012, we will host Col. Paul Herbert, Executive Director of the First Division Museum in Cantigny Illinois. He is West Point graduate and holds a Ph.D. in History from Ohio State University. Other Executives in Residence include:

  • Wayne McVicker, Founder of Neoforma.com.
  • Scott E. Roe, Vice President, Global Planning and Logistics of Abbott Laboratories
  • Russell W. Swansen, Senior Vice President and Chief Investment Officer of Thrivent Financial
  • Cordelia Taylor, Founder and Director of The Family House in Milwauke

The Chapman Executive in Residence program was launched by business professor Thomas Groleau, who remains on the Steering Committee.
