Visiting Professors

Representatives of the Clausen Center have been actively engaged in both visiting other college campuses as well as universities and other institutions, in the United States and other countries, and in facilitating visitors to Carthage. The Center has brought in such prominent speakers as Bruce DuMont, Chicago radio/television host and founder of the Museum of Broadcast Communications, authors David and Julie Eisenhower, Brown University scientist Sergei Khrushchev, CNN senior political analyst Bill Schneider and actor Daniel J. Travanti. Students have also had the opportunity to meet with retired executives from Mobil Oil and Snap-on Inc., and members of the Wisconsin legislature.

Carthage Trustee Steven M. Chapman, Group Vice President - Emerging Markets and Businesses, Cummins Inc. has generously endowed the Chapman Executive in Residence Program; he also served as the initial visiting executive. In the fall of 2006, the program featured Mr. Scott E. Roe, Vice President, Global Planning and Logistics of Abbott Laboratories. Visitors in 2007 include: Russell W. Swansen, Senior Vice President and Chief Investment Officer of Thrivent Financial; Jerome Grant, President of Business Publishing at Pearson/Prentice Hall; and Wayne McVicker, Founder of Neoforma.com. This program is directed by Professor Thomas Groleau.
