Dan Ruffner has been certified since August 1992. He received his Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Univserity Wisconsin Stevens Point, and a Masters degree in Athletic Training at Illinois State University. Prior to working at Carthage College he was the Head Athletic Trainer at Bloomington High School for two years and one year in Outpatient Physical Therapy at Mercy Medical Center in Oshkosh, Wisconsin.

At Carthage, he is a professor in the Athletic Training Program. He teaches Kinesiology, Evaluation of Athletic Injuries, Practicum II, and Advanced Techniques in Athletic Training.

 

Dan says that he enjoys the diversity here at Carthage College. He likes that the athletes are motivated to return to play after an injury.

Laurie Jensen has been certified since June 1999. She received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Athletic Training from Carthage College as well as her Masters in Education. Prior to becoming the Head Athletic Trainer, she was the Assisant Athletic Trainer and a Graduate Assistant here at Carthage. She was also a rehabilitation and wellness specialist for Super Value Corporation.

 

Laurie provides athletic training services for women's volleyball, men's basketball, men/women's tennis, men/women's cross country, men/women's swimming, softball, and men/women's golf. She is also a professor in the Athletic Training Education Program. She teaches Introduction to Athletic Training, Principles of Athletic Training, Practicum I, Administration in Athletic Training, and Topics of Athletic Training: Pharmacology.

 

Laurie enjoys the enthusiasim and energy of the young adults at Carthage. She states, "Every day here is different; I have never been bored here at Carthage."

Jake Dinauer has been certified since August 2000. He received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Athletic Training from Carthage College as well as his Masters in Education. Prior to working as the Assistant Athletic Trainer, he was a Graduate Assistant here at Carthage. He was also an Athletic Trainer/Corporate Fitness Consultant at NovaCare Rehabilitation. Jake is a captain on the Town of Raymond Fire and Rescue department.

 

Jake provides athletic training services for football, women's basketball, and baseball. He is a professor in the Athletic Training Edcation Program teaching Modalities in Athletic Training, Practium III, Theraputic Principles of Rehabilitation in Athletic Training,and Practicum IV and Prevention and Care of Athletic Injuries.

 

Jake feels that teaching helps him stay current and up on his athletic training skills. He also states, "I enjoy watching the students progress and become successful professionals."

Amanda graduated from Carthage College with a Bachelor of Arts in Athletic Training in 2006. Since Amanda was certified in Summer of 2006, she has been a G.A. for Carthage College. Amanda is continuing her education at Carthage College to receive her Masters in Education.

Catie graduated from Carthage College with a Bachelors of Arts in Athletic Training in 2007. Catie was certified in Summer of 2007. She is a G.A. for Carthage College and works as a Rehabilition Aide at Kenosha Hospital. She is continuing her schooling to receive her Masters in Education.
