Carthage is a private college of the liberal arts and sciences, affiliated with the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America. Located midway between Chicago and Milwaukee, Carthage's picturesque campus on the Lake Michigan shore is home to 2,063 full-time and 614 part-time students.
Carthage awards the Bachelor of Arts degree with majors in more than 30 subject areas, and the Master of Education degree. Carthage also hosts the joint Executive MBA and Master of Social Work degree awarded by Loyola University Chicago.
The Carthage faculty comprises nearly 150 scholars, 90 percent of whom hold the doctorate or other terminal degree. Carthage was founded in 1847.
